[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received a bottle from Influenster and Robitussin of the Robitussin Cough and Chest Congestion DM in exchange for my honest review. I like to keep some cough syrup on hand especially going into winter. So when I received this bottle I was happy to have it. Surprisingly or not so surprisingly a cold hit the house about a week after it's arrival. The bottle was out to use and it has been a wonderful addition. The berry flavor is better than I expected, I would not typically choose that flavor myself but found it pretty yummy for what it is. It definitely helped relieve some of the symptoms and I liked it that it does not contain acetaminophen or any other pain killers. I like to be able to take something only for the cold.
This is one of the few medicines I'm allowed to take when sick that won't interact with my regular ones. It really works for cold/cough symptoms, which is great, because there are several “bugs” going around right now. It contains dextromethorphan HBr as a cough suppressant and guaifenesin as an expectorant, and helps control cough, congestion and mucus when you have a cold or related illness. (It may not be Rochelle's cure-all like on the show “Everybody Hates Chris,” but it does work on colds/coughs. LOL) It is non-drowsy, so it is good for daytime use, and has a pleasant raspberry flavor. It is not recommended for children under 12 years of age.
Robitussin Maximum Strength Nighttime Cough DM effectively relieves coughs, has a tolerable taste, and convenient packaging, but the drowsiness side effect can be significant.

I'm not a huge fan of the flavor but this is great for cough suppression and chest congestion. It's great for daytime use at work. It definitely helps symptoms for 4-5 hrs. This product arrived at the perfect time since I got sick a couple weeks later. It's very convenient to have some over the counter medicine stocked up ahead of cold season. I've never been a fan of liquid cough syrups because of the taste - the raspberry flavor was definitely better than others I've tried, but still had that medicinal cough syrup after taste. After a few doses, I noticed my cough and congestion symptoms being alleviated and not keeping me up at night or feeling much discomfort during the day. The non-drowsy formula allowed me to continue with daily activities as needed, with no issues falling asleep when I needed some rest. It is easy to administer using the pre-measured cup the Robitussin came with. Users should read and follow the instructions, warnings and recommended dosage on the packaging - seek advice from medical professionals prior to taking or if symptoms persist.
