This was not what I expected since have had so many disappointments. but it was all I hoped for. Love it.
I liked the typewriter but the only reason I am returning it is because of my hand problem I am unable to use it
If you like old fashioned this is your tool.
Took a while to realize how much harder the keys are compared to electronic typewriters. But, once get past that, all is well
I love love love it! I had one similar that was damaged when I moved. This one is so much more compact and light compared to my other one. AND this one came with a hard shell carrying case!!! Two toned ribbon - black and red. Does not use corrective tape - but who cares!
Just got it. 1. It should show that you remove the white plastic piece that is on the paper advancer. I had the same problem as someone else who returned theirs because it didnt work. It is fine when you remove the.white plastic clip. I think the ribbon given is there just to show you where it goes. There is very little ribbon on the spool and it doesnt work. It looks wrinkled and probably dried out. I ordered a new one and will have to wait till I get it before I can finish this review. It is a heavy machine and ranked 4th in best machines by a British review company. Others were more expensive. They liked this model except that it was a heavy machine.
I definitely do not recommend this typewriter. You would think for the price, the quality would be good ... but it is not. Royal used to be the best brand of typewriter, but obviously it isn't any more. The letters do not type in a uniform line, making the lines look wavy. Very, very disappointed consumer.
Wouldnt advance paper right out of the box. There was a ball bearing or a detent rolling around in the bottom of the typewriter. It did type well. Returned and Im not trying again.
Difficult to tap on all letter, it is not smooth as I wanted, the key L is not worked properly after I typed L letter it did not return properly, it is hard to type for my finger to press down letter, maybe with my old age 70 is not fit for Manual typewriter. Will find another electric typewriter for better with my age.
I was expecting better from a Royal product. The line advance lever was stiff or else it wouldn't move at all. The keys would stick and the lines were not even.
