IT'S NICE TO HAVE AN OLD FASHION TYPEWRITER. PUT IT INSIDE MY NEW COFFEE TABLE
It looked and worked exactly as noted. No assembly required. I got this as a gift and my boyfriend was able to start using it right away. Definitely takes some toying with if you've never used a typewriter before, but he seemed to pick it up quickly.
We like it. We did not have any of the issues, mentioned on other reviews. There are three plastic retainers and one metal wire to remove, but this was covered in the unpacking instructions.
I bought this to do job related paperwork. Because sometimes the office printers just don't do the job. So I'll type out the paperwork in the truck. Works good goes through 4 pages easily.
Good typewriter that meets my basic needs. I'd forgotten how hard keys must be struck before instantiating them on the page! Nevertheless, no wires necessary; just a paper, ribbon, and white-out are necessary to compose your next great novel!
This typewriter does have a bottom to it; some other styles/brands don't. Before typing, there is a metal bar/wire on the typewriter to remove as well as some white or clear plastic pieces. The keys won't work until all these disposable pieces are removed. The typewriter works, but the keys need to be pressed VERY firmly. Also, the type is very light, almost gray. My 10 yr old played with an old typewriter at an antique shop and then wanted one for Christmas. I think she will be happy with it. It will serve her purpose. I might try a new ink ribbon to see if it makes a difference. This typewriter is returnable to a Walmart store, which is great if my 10 yr old changes her mind.
Looked brand new well packaged, but when we opened it the ribbon had been used and there was a paper that looked like someone tried it out and returned it. My girlfriend is fine with it but thats truly unacceptable that i have to but her new ribbon because the other ribbon was used. I trusted the seller instead of the reviews who new that for my girlfriend borthday id get her a used typewriter. Works fine though.
The keys on the tupe writer sticks. I would like a other one for how much i payed out to your company.
It's a toy never made to be used in an office. Really expected much better from Royal. Like so many items I have bought, Made In China means cheaply made. Really expected better.
