Coins sorted for a low low cost

There is nothing special about this product except that it is pretty cheap and does what it is supposed to do. I haven't run a lot of coins through it at this point but my first tests indicate that it should work just fine. After loading a few coins in the sorter and testing its basic function, I poured in a lot more and started cranking. I am had a jam almost immediately but a quick backward crank got it going again. It is likely that I may not be able to just totally fill the bin and expect there to be no problems - but I also don't think that is a big deal. It is easy to crank and pour in coins at the same time anyway. Also, it doesn't take long to get enough coins to fill up the rolls at which point you have to stop and empty the slots. Overall, a pretty good product, especially for the price.

We are using this in an office setting where we empty coins from several drink machines once a week. This is great! NO jams, you can start and stop at your convenience. Well worth the money.

We just Love this Coin Sorter. It saves us time from the chore of rolling coins. It actually makes it fun to do this job. We turn the handle slowly forward allowing coins to fall into the cylinders if it jams occasionally, we simply turn the handle gently and slowly backwards and the coins unjam the penny may fall into the quarter slot going in "reverse" but this is not a big deal considering the time we save. We simply place the penny in the penny cylinder and keep going. We prefer to use the round paper coin wrappers but you can use the ones from the bank. Couldn't be happier with this purchase! Thank You Royal Sovereign QS-1 Manual Coin Sorter, and Thanks Walmart!

Way better than any battery operated counter...Not designed for a bunch of change but when you dump pocket fulls into it works just fine!!! Bigger than it looks almost like the size of a small Television but that's a good thing. Couldn't be happier with this...it's too perfect!!!

Works Very Well

Turn the handle clockwise slowly. The instructions say to put the coin wrappers in the plastic tubes, then sort the coins. Better results are had if you sort into the plastic tubes, then slip the wrappers onto the coins. You will be able to check the stack of coins to make sure the coins are sorted correctly. There will be errors, and the faster you turn the crank more errors occur. Pennies like to fall in the dime slot. Not a problem if you sort the coins in the plastic tubes, then slip them into the Wrappers. For the $$ this machine works great I have used electric sorters, but they usually sort too fast and errors occur. This sorter is manually cranked, and errors are few, and easy to find. Crank Slowly.

I brought this home and dumped a bunch of coins in it. I don't have wrappers yet, so I only did one or two stacks. It easily separated the coins. One dime dropped in with the pennies and it was easy to spot as I plan to wrap them after they are counted. If they go into the preformed tubes you will not see it. The speed seemed to depend on how full the hopper is. I think that once I start wrapping I will figure out how to speed things up. I have about $250 in mixed coins to sort and wrap. I am sure this will go much faster than the manual counting and wrapping a did a couple of years ago. I would rate it higher, but I haven't really given it a workout yet.

I had a battery powered sorter for years that gave up the ghost. A duplicate was twice the price of this one so I decided to save some money. The manual sorter works better and does not get clogged up as much. Once in a while it misses the right slot because the coin bounces around but it is fine for home use.

For home use this is a great product. Very quick and easy and fun. Machine jambs at times but is easily unjammed by turning the lever backwards slightly. Seems sturdy enough and is well constructed. Great speed and you can use the round coin sleeves or the square bank supplied wrappers. The bank wrappers won't fit the coin tubes but easily fits over the coins in the tubes.

Faster Than Electric Models

Faster than electric models? YES, because it drops fewer mistakes...i.e. dimes in the penny slot, or nickles in the quarter slot etc. The electric models certainly turn faster but have far more mistakes to have to remove from the tube, making them actually slower. To use this item effectively a slow steady cranking speed is essential, all the while keeping an eye on the tubes for mistakes. Although the manufacturer pushes the pre-formed coin tubes, I find that with a little care the flat ones provided free by my bank can be used quite effectively. Supposedly holding up to 200 coins in the hopper, you will be advise to keep it not many more the say 50 or so. The extra weight in the hopper causes to many misfeeds. The only one on the market that beats this one costs in the neighborhood of $1,700 to $1,900 dollars. For really effortless coin rolling teach the rug rats or the grandbrats to use it...they have a ball, BUT be prepared to loose some rolls in exchange for their hard earned labor, the little blighters are greedy!!!

Good Coin Counter on the Cheap.

It is very good for its Price. But you do get what you pay for. The good - Its sorts accurately with out the need of money tubes. If you crank to handle to fast, the coins can jam up, but you just need to reverse the turning and it will unjam.
