Economical, durable, stackable storage Boxed well for shipping. SUPER price for 8 on-line with quick shipping. Well-made with lock closures that form handles, and clear plastic to view contents.

It's exactly what I was looking for, helps to organize toys and kids' keepsakes. The best part is that the size is still small enough to fit on the shelves in the closet. The clear part is great so that I can see what's inside without labels.

19 quart containers good for many storage jobs.

I used these Rubbermaid Roughneck 19 quart clear plastic containers in 2 places in my home. One was in the walk-in closet. My closet has just one shelf, a little above eye level. I stacked 2 rows of containers along the shelf. Even though you can readily see the contents, it helped me to label them with things like "scarves", "hats", "gloves", "swimwear". The other place I used them was in a utility closet, on a set of steel shelving. The labels here included "electric cords", "painting", "plumbing", "woodwork". We have the same brand and size containers we purchased years ago, and we stack them 3 high in a basement area and use them for storing bottled water, sodas, beer, wine, paper towels, toilet rolls. The heavy items are no problem for the containers. Walmart's price on the 8 pack was good, and the ordering online and the free delivery worked well.

Rubbermaid 4.75-Gallon (19-Quart) Roughneck Clears

The usual Rubbermaid Roughneck excellent quality. I used these in my workshop to store electrical, plumbing and miscilaneous shop supplies. The fact that these are clear and easy to see what's inside and 3 of them fit perfectly across each shelf of my racks, is the main reason I bought them. That being said, the dimensions quoted in the product specs are the "outside" dimensions at the widest point of the container at the top, including the lid. This was perfect info for my use, but if you're buying these and need to know the "Inside" dims at the narrowest point, you'll need to subtract about 1.5 inches from the "width and length" dims quoted on the spec page. The height is about the same. Would it be expecting too much for Rubbermaid to quote the inside dims at the narrowest point and the outside dims at the widest point"?? When you're buying this stuff on the web and you can't see it or hold it in your hands, too much info is never a bad thing, ya think??

Tougher than competition, but need clear lids!

I bought some of these over a year ago to organize tools/equipment/etc. in my vehicle which takes a huge amount of abuse and passes it onto the contents. Only problem is the lids aren't clear, although my friend somehow has a clear lid on one of his. Recently I needed more/different sizes and went on a mission ordering clear totes w/ clear lids from every other maker (Starlite, Iris, you name 'em), and in less than 2 months they've all broken. So, all I need is these Roughnecks (or anyhing just as tough) BUT with CLEAR lids! Like I said my friend has one with a clear lid so I know they were made at some point - please let me know how to get them! Cheers, Graydon

I have used these roughneck boxes for the past few years for organizing household items & tools, home electronics parts, etc. They are not too big/heavy and deep enough to hold taller objects. I like them so much that I decided to purchase this 8 pack for my husband's tools, gear and electronics. Unfortunately, the package was damaged in transit b/c the cardboard was not reinforced: 2 of the tubs were partially shattered and since I can't do a partial return, I had to return the ENTIRE set. This is why I gave the lower ratings - I wish Rubbermaid had better packaging - going to the store after Christmas was a time-suck.

Lids poorly designed

Box's were fine; lids were not designed to latch if box is full as they slide off with any weight in the box. One lid had broken latch and did not work at all. Pick-up was at the back of the store and I was told they would bring the box (large and unwieldy) but they just brought the box out and set it on the counter and started to walk away. I asked for at least a cart to get them out of the store with and they did comply. Thank you.

Horrible lids

I purchased 20 of these Clear Roughnecks in various sizes after there was water damage in my storage unit and everything had to be repacked. They look nice, the ability to stack them was good, and I was okay with buying clear instead of the normal colored roughneck. The sad thing is, they are nothing like the other roughnecks. I've packed tons of stuff in the regular roughnecks and never had a issue with the container breaking or the lid popping off. Every single lid popped off these Clear Roughnecks as soon as I picked them up to move them. It's almost like the lip on the lid lock isn't deep enough to hold when the container is loaded. It's fine if you've packed light items such as linens in them. But not for packing dishes, glassware, books or other heavier items. Unforunately, I had to find this out after I had all 20 packed with my stuff and was closing them up to re-store them. I'm very disappointed and now have to make two trips back to the store: 1: to buy better containers and repack everything and 2: to take these inferior products back. Guess it wouldn't be that big of deal if it wasn't a 50 mile round trip.

A roughneck clear cracks and breaks when left out, I presume from light, even though no direct sunlight hit this container. I used this container for one season as temporary grey water tank from shower, thence pumping to trees. Brittle and landfill fodder now.
