I own all three sets and love them. The strap is great for easy handling and I love how sturdy the smaller pieces are once clicked in. It's unfortunate to hear all the reviews on the clear plastic lids. I've had my pieces for almost a year now and have washed them in hot water, in a dishwasher and have dropped them and all of my clear plastic lids are intact with no cracks.
In late April 2016, I got the Fasten+Go Entree kit on a whim. I have been using it exclusively since then for my Monday through Friday workday lunchtime meal. Every evening, I build a "lunch platter" for the next day by making sure I put something in every compartment. It made no difference what I put in them as long as I don't try to stuff in more than each compartment can hold. I try to vary the menu. For example, on one day, I put a tuna sandwich and some chips in the big container, cole slaw in a medium container, pickles in the other medium container, fruit salad in a small container, and some "famous brand" white cream filled cookies in the last small container. On another day I fill the large container with mixed greens, a medium container with chunk chicken, another medium container with shredded cheese, a small container with balsamic dressing, and yes, "famous brand" cookies in the last container. Other days, it may be a mix and match, or something completely different. I just had one simple rule for myself. I made sure to fill every compartment, and I made sure to eat everything I put in there. My breakfast has always consisted of a meal bar and coffee (long before I used this Fasten+Go. I eat a good meal for dinner without overindulging. Lunch has always been the variable for me, and was probably she source of my overeating. Yet a have also "under ate" at lunch, causing me to ravage myself with food at dinner. With my portions now steadily under control, I have lost 18 lbs. in two months without effort AND without feeling hungry. The Fasten+Go Entree also cleans up well and has held up to daily use and travel without breaking.
After my first use( a bowl of tomato and red pepper soup with a large amount of Sriacha) my soup container was stained. Other then the stain it has been perfect for lunches.
I really enjoy the concept of this product, and use it daily for work. I like that it helps me with portion control. That being said, the green lid to the product cracked on me when I was taking it off and it's vital for the transportation of the food. It's a small crack as of now, but it has affected the structural integrity of the whole system. If you purchase this, I would suggest being very, very careful when removing the lid.
I have bought the Rubbermaid Fasten + Go and the Lid cracked. I am on the 3rd one in a year for this product. The exchange students I host love this lunchbox for school, but I am frustrated with how quickly your lids crack that covers the containers.
i bought this rubber maid fasten and go container ...i love it except the first time i washed and dried it it cracked.....other then the cracked side of the product i think its great but it should last more then one wash...not sure how to add the picture...i would recommend it if they fixed the problem i bought three of them and am nervous to wash them when i use them . not sure how to rate it....everything is good except the top that holds it all together....roberta evans
I've bought 3 of these now and all have cracked as other reviewers have found. It only takes hand hot water and very little use to break them. It's such a shame because they're great for kids to carry and the sections have helped me to structure a balanced lunch. I'm so committed to the ideda, I wish it was possible to buy replacements, or better still Rubbermaid remake with more durable materials.
The container is the perfect size for soup or reheating other food, unfortunately it does not live up to its claims. We've had it for about two months and it not only stained very quickly (despite the claims), but it formed a 1.5 inch crack from the top causing a nasty leak.
Very cheap quality product. The outer lid broke in 6 months.
I bought the Fasten + Go sandwich kit for my daughter for her school lunches. The FIRST time she used it, the see through lid cracked all the way up the side. No hard pressure was applied--nothing heavy sat on it to account for it cracking so badly. We tried to glue/tape it up because she LOVES it but now it's a mess. Be very very careful when transporting!
