We recently took a trip to Mexico, involving airports, ferries, and waiting for taxis. This harness performed brilliantly with my active 2 year old little girl. She still felt like she had freedom, but I was in control of her safety. The fact that it is a backpack was very helpful in the most obvious way...we could put her milk, passies, snacks, crayons, etc. in her little backpack while we were out and about. Now I keep it with me at all times, for mall outings, the zoo, or pretty much anywhere that there is a crowd or a street. VERY COOL!
I for one was against any kind of "leashes" or harnesses for my kids..until I had my boys. My two year old is autistic and he is very sneaky about running off and then I have to figure out what to do with my one year old I am carrying so I can go chase my 2 year old down. These are a life saver...they don't have to feel confined and they can walk on their own but can only go so far so I can keep them out of danger. It definitely gives me piece of mind when we are out in public and they don't look like leashes-they look like baby backpacks and the kids can keep their drinks, snacks and favorite toy with them everywhere they go!
I have a 2 years old who is very independent & hates to be confined to strollers or being carried. I purchased this item with the hope of maintaining control, yet providing her some independence. I love the "backpack" idea as she feels like she is a big girl, carrying her own "stuff". She also has a small pocket for her very own treasures in the front for easy access. The backpack is large enough for a couple of diapers/wipes and still has a little more room for small toys. The backpack does not come with the bottle (which was a bit disappointing), but is useful for carrying whatever beverage container you choose. I would recommend this to any parent of small adventurers! Too bad it doesn't come in "girly" colors!
It's a very good disguise for a harness! I didn't want to buy a regular child harness because it looks just like a dog leash to me, but this is just perfect!!! It keeps your little one safe and close to you and its a useful backpack too!
This is the best alternative I could find to the gold puppy backpack (I had to take that plush animal back because it no longer has the zipper in the back anymore) but this backpack does and there's enough room to fit two diapers, a package of wipes, and diaper cream oinment in the big compartment, plus a small toy in the pocket side of this little backpack. I'm very pleased and I definetely would recommend this to a friend!
This back pack is very, very small - but it fits a toddler's back just fine and holds plenty for a quick outing.
I bought this system because my 21 month grandson is getting too fast and outruns Grandma. The material is heavy duty and doesn't look restrictive. The back pack that comes with it is tiny and appropiate for this age. It fits him well and he loves it. We got him used to the system by putting the pack on his back first and then the strap that we hold onto. The back pack has room for a diaper and had a place for a sippy cup on the side. Cute and nice product!
When the item arrived, the color wasn't as pictured. I have a completely blue backpack, no green at all, and had to return the product since I am planning to use it for a baby girl. It does run a little small, could fit a couple of size 3 and 4 diapers, small package of wet wipes or tissue and a small toy and that would be pretty much it. I think that is intentional since your toddler shouldn't be carrying a whole lot of items on behalf of us. I can't say the durability of this bag, as I have not used it at all prior to returning. My real complaint is the color of bag isn't as pictured.
The backpack appears larger on the kid as pictured, but the real thing is much smaller! It's like 2 inches thick only. The kid in the picture looks big & the backpack looks like a decent size on him, but the one I got was tiny. Doesn't seem like a will grow with my baby.
I thought that the backpack would be bigger...my son is 2 yrs old and this really small. He likes it...but he plays with it like it's a toy. The backpack isn't big enough for me to put anything in it for him. If it was a little bigger than I think it would be ok...but not sure because my son won't wear it but around the house, should take it back to the store.
