We have placed this cover in the playroom. We have a TV that hangs from the wall. This completely covers the outlet and the excess cord that hangs down. So far, the children have been unable to get it open and with our walls the same color it Blends in with no issue. It does not seem to cause any kind of safety or fire hazard. Highly recommend.
This outlet cover is pretty awesome. I'm using it in the living room, but I am thinking about getting more to use everywhere, even where safety isn't a concern. You have to replace the outlet cover with this one. This prevents the plugs from getting unplugged and prevents things from going into the outlet that shouldn't. It is large enough to use with most adapters, even the large ones. The cord wrap is pretty cool, it reduces the amount of cord hanging. This would also be a great addition to an office for those cords that have to hang with twist ties. There is ample room for two thick cords to come thru without squishing them. The outlet is really secure and almost tricky to get off, no little hands are going to undo this.
Perfect baby proof outlet cover. I have these in multiple spots in my home. They are super easy to install (doesn’t come with a screw, you use one from your preexisting outlet cover), have two little indents that make it hard for a child but easy for an adult to open and close, have enough space to wrap extra cord and then comes out the top, and are baby/toddler proof! These are for regular cords, not super thick ones such as ones for larger space heaters or window air conditioning units. The few minutes it takes to switch out your outlet covers is worth it to keep your kids safe. Highly recommend!
With a 3 yr old and a 1yr old, One cant be too careful especially with the outlets. We tried the plug in ones and the kids love to take those out, eventually we got scared and tired of trying to cover it that i taped them shut till we found this outlet cover. Does the job. Will definitely recommend if you have kids around.
My third baby is a wild one she won't stop getting into things she shouldn't. Especially cords this paired with cord covers has helped me become more at ease with her walking around the house. She has tried and tried to get the cover off and now has given up and doesn't even mess with them anymore
The is nice to cover an outlet that is in use when you have an infant or toddler wandering around touching and getting into everything. Would recommend using it for something like a lamp that you don’t need frequent access to. I’ve tried this with a lamp and my phone charger. It looks like if I use it for my charger for a prolonged period of time it will break the wire because there isn’t enough space in there. It works well with the lamp wire and I can wrap the word around a few times to shorten it and I don’t have to worry about my little one playing with it because it truly would be impossible for them to get the cover off. You wouldn’t be able to fit much of anything else with a larger plug inside though. It is easy to install, just remove the screw and take off your existing outlet cover plate and use the same screw to screw this over it. Only took a minute to install. It doesn’t seem to get hot inside of it. It is a good purchase, but is a little bulky and makes me a little uncomfortable about the safety of my wires being bent inside. I think if you have to have something plugged in where your child will play with it this is great, but I wouldn’t put it over every outlet. I prefer to put something in front of the outlet area if possible.
I really wanted to love this, but I think I’m better off without. It’s so bulky that it will for sure only work on fully exposed outlets but it also doesn’t hold much cord. You can only wrap it a few times before it because hard to close completely. It really doesn’t work for thicker than normal cords either. You can fit two of you don’t wrap them all the way but if it’s fully exposed and you still have to leave some cord loose, it almost defeats the purpose. There are usually outlets behind things than can be hidden enough without adding the bulky contraption. I can see the benefit of you have a kiddo that really won’t leave a cord in an outlet no matter what because it does keep them from being able to unplug things, but it’s not a real issue for me. Pros: -Kiddo cannot yank out cord Cons: -Bulky -Doesn’t hold full length of two cords -Doesn’t hold thicker width cords well Overall I think this is one of those things you buy thinking you need it and find you never end up using it.
I was exited for this product, but it has limited use. It only works with regular standard plug/outlets. So plugs like my wifi router and cell phone chargers that are box shaped and stick out too much didn't fit with this, which are the main plugs I wanted covered. Great concept and works well for other items like lamp plugs and certain electric plugs that are standard size, but most plugs nowadays are bulky or oddly shaped. Also, make sure you know for certain where you want this installed, although it isn't hard, it's just a hassle to remove outlet covers and replace them.
I wanted to try this in a few areas before officially screwing in into place, there's one screw hole in the middle , have to take original screw out of cover plate on your wall and use that one to screw this on to it, I was not able to use my cord timer that I have my lights set to, plug is to big, cover will not fit, I tried my bed room alarm clock since kids pull that out constantly, the cover will not fit that either. It did fit on my standard table lamp cord but above that I have a photo frame plugged in and that will not fit or the cover rather will not fit over it, so really u need a specific spot for this in mind with 2 normal 2 prong cords and u can wrap it up around a little too shorten cord but not much, there's not alot of room
Our walls are white- the outlet covers are white- our trim and even our framing are all white. The box doesn't resemble what the color of the product is at all! It looks horrible. Like my great grandmothers house in the 60's off white…
