Swing door is easy to operate. Great look. So happy not to stop stepping over our old static gate.
perfect to replace the old one. Fst shipping easy to install.
I almost did not purchase this gate because of a bad review that someone had left; however, this was the only gate that would fit at the top of the stairs at my house. I love it! It works great. Easy to open, a little harder to close but not to bad. My 2 year can't climb or figure it out which is perfect for my soon to be crawling infant. I would say the only problem with this item is it takes 2 people to install it!
This is a good baby gate - but not great. Sturdy/ Easy to Use once up - 4 Stars. I like the way it works, and it actually seems pretty well made. Appearance - 3 Stars. It actually looks pretty decent, but it is BLACK, not the dark wood color shown in all the online pictures. Also I think it would look nicer on a narrower opening - our stairs are wide so the gate is stretched pretty far. Installation - 1 Star (or 0 stars). The little paper thing they give you to drill so both sides are even is completely incorrect. We had to take it apart and drill all new holes. Very disappointed in the extra set of holes that we now have to fix. (I thought my husband had just misread the directions, but no, they were blatantly wrong.) Just be careful when installing.
I bought this and mounted it to the top of our stairs. Within three weeks it had fallen out of the wall. The directions tell you to drill a pilot hole that is far too large, which was most likely the problem. Be wary of the instructions, but other than that it is a very attractive gate and served its purpose while it lasted.
Looks great! Not very sturdy. The mounting hardwear is great!! But We had it up for two weeks, and my son broke the frame. Still need to keep close eyes on this gate!!
Everything is square and true and closes fine but if you have it set to lock while in the closed position then pull up to unlock the top comes out easy but the bottom stays in if you adjust so that top and bottom go in and out easily then the gate will not lock when in place very frustrating, hard ware expecially screws very cheap
I wished I had followed other peoples advice and had not wasted my money on this gate. This gate is extremely poor quality and cheaply made. It did not even last two weeks before it broke. I should also say that this was not for kids at all, it was for a small dog, so it wasn't broke by any sort of abuse, the gate was only opened and closed by an adult. Very poor quality, listen to others and do not sate your money on it.
I have 7 children, and a dog, so you can imagine my need to have a gate. This looked beautiful and seemed to be able to fit in the 3 different places I bought the gates for. ALL of the hardware included is useless! If you buy this gate since it is pretty you will need to buy all your own hardware or expect the hardware included to immediately get stripped, or worse, not even be able go into the wall to stay put! I have a relatively new home so never expected the problems we encountered! With all the trouble you might just want to make your own gate... that's how much time you will waste on this product!
Bought 3 of these a year ago. One came already broken (may have been a shipping issue) and had to be replaced. Installation is not overly difficult nor is it easy. IF you can get this thing mounted into "studs" it's durable, however, due to the construction of our place, two of the gates had to be mounted into drywall with anchors. With 2 little ones tugging on it now and then, one eventually loosened out of the wall. Made larger holes and got bigger anchors only to have the same thing happen! Second one broke the other day. This one was the release latch you have to pull up and out on, a task that is def not easy with one had (if carrying a child, groceries, etc). The latch snapped off and the gate now can't be unlocked. Only good thing about these is the look IMO. Otherwise, they're junk!
