I have researched convertible car seats for months and this one finally came out the winner. One of my main concerns was having the seat fit in my Honda Civic Sedan, and this one fits great. I wanted my child to be safe, but I also thought that spending $200-300 on a car seat was too much. This seat is listed for cheaper on Walmart versus Amazon, but once you add the tax its actually pretty much the same. I though this seat was easy to adjust and to install. You do have to re-thread the shoulder straps to adjust them, but I knew how to do that from my infant seat. Some of the more expensive seats don't require you to re-thread, but once you know how to do it its very easy to adjust. This seat looks great, fits nicely in my car, and my child seems very comfortable in it.
I bought this car seat a month ago and I LOVE IT! Honestly best car seat I've had. So little so doesn't take up a lot of space.
After searching for months for a decent priced, safe, and small convertible car seat I finally found this one. Even then I didn't stop looking but I couldn't find anything better. We ordered two, one for each car and it's well worth the money. I found them very easy to install following the directions given despite the reviews I read. I didn't even need a towel or pool noodle in either car. They key to getting it tight enough is lifting the seat cover and putting your body weight on the seat while pulling the latch and tightening, like the instructions say. I also did not "scrape my fingers on small seat belt guides" because I lifted up the cover to tighten. Fits well in our small VW Jetta. Our 9 month old son now LOVES car rides. He is still very reclined but has more room and can see everything. I would recommend this car seat to anyone and we will buy this exact one when we have another child. No need to spend $200 on a seat. I have compared to Britax and prefer this.
I have almost 2 year old twins and I bought this one for my boy! He loved upgrading from his infant seat to this! It's very well paded! Although a bit heavy it is pretty easy to install! Unfortunately, we were in an accident on Saturday, May 20th so we have to replace this seat but we will be buying it again! Jet.com offered it for the cheapest price around and with having to buy two seats plus two booster seats for my older kids saving money was very important. Thank you Jet.com for your amazing prices. #Sweepstakes [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
I absolutely love it! My son does too! Everything was right on time and looks perfect!
My son HATED his infant seat, and would scream during every car ride so I started looking for a car seat like this one. We love this seat! He doesn't cry anymore because he can see out more and it fits 5 pounds and up! We're thrilled with this purchase
had bought one a few months ago for my pickup from the store in a different color. fits well in the access cab in the rear facing position behind the drivers seat. needed another for wife's car, but the color didn't look right for her car. was considering getting the eddie bauer version just for the color, until this one showed up. also installed rear facing with leg room for the front passenger. the fabric cleans up well, removing the cover to wash is same as other brands i've had, you got to pull the belts out first. the anchor strap is tough to tighten up and to release, but you won't do that very often. the cup holder is too shallow. the adjustable headrest is a nice feature. the seat seems wide but no more than an infant seat with the handle, good for extra shoulder room. haven't installed forward facing yet, so can't comment on that.
My husband & I were looking for a car seat for our son who exceeded the length limit (which was 30 inches) on his first car seat. We were looking for a car seat that could still be rear facing, yet be able to grow with him for a little while. We read many reviews on different seats before deciding to try this one. It was easy to install, save for it being a little wobbly (nothing a towel couldn't fix), when placed rear facing, & we couldn't beat the price! Now instead of him never wanting to be in his car seat, he never wants to leave it! It's more comfortable than some of the other models we looked (there seems to be more padding for his bottom.) Another feature we really like is the adjustable straps (especially the strap between his legs), not many car seats we looked at had that feature. Now when we go visiting his grandparents, who live 3 hours away, we know he will be comfortable for the entire drive. We are even considering getting another one for our other vehicle!
Safety 1st Guide 65 Convertible Car Sear, Chambers is a good looking car seat, excellent quality and easy to install. I'm just not happy with the car seat because it doesn't recline enough for my 5-month old grandson who is 16 pounds. The baby's head keeps falling forward when he falls to sleep. Are there any suggestions you have to make car seat recline more than it does, it really just seems to be upright and doesn't slant enough. Does anyone else have this problem. I know it will be great for him when he's a little older.
This seat is NOT good for children smaller than about 9 months clothing. Before then the child's shoulders would be below the bottom harness slot, which is not safe for rear facing. Every child should be rea faced for a minimum of 2 years, ideally 4, so even with the later usage, you can still get a lot of life out of this seat. I bought it for my 2 year old when his Radian XT was close to expiry, and while it is a pain to learn to install properly, speaking with a CPST (check out the safe kids website) and following Car Seats For The Little's Guide to the Guide gave me a great install. My son just surpassed 3 years in this seat, still rearfacing with plenty of room to make it to 4. It claims it can fit 3 across. This rings true for the second row of my tahoe, but not the third row. It is fairly comfortable, light weight, and a budget friendly instore option. In the images, children who aren't mine have stickers on their faces, but the other 3 are mine. 8 year old in a no back booster, 6 year old in a high back booster, 3 year old in the Guide65 Sport rear facing.
