I like this thermometer only because I have figured out how to use it. There is a trick to it and that is to pull the back as to get the thermometer in the right position. It has worked well for my family and for my neighbors who frequently borrow it.
It does a quick reading but it's only accurate if you have it pointed the right way. So I usually take like 3 readings and do an average. You will know if it is pretty far off. I think it is easier than a rectal temp. It could be a bit smaller and easier to handle. But I take it everywhere with me.
Never gives the same reading twice and the reading it does give is always far from the actual temp my daughter has, Ive tried using it on myself and my husband and the same thing happens.
This thing is a piece of JUNK! I hate it and always have ever since the first time we tried it. It doesn't give correct temps and it compeletely died on us after a few months ( I can't understand why because we sure didn't use it enough to run a battery down.) Do not waste your money on this piece of garbage!!
We bought this before our son was born thinking an ear thermometer would be great. This thing never takes accurate temps. I'll get 96, then 103, then 99 - which is it?!? I'm going out to get a temporal thermometer in a bit. This one is going in the trash!
I run a daycare and bought this during cold and flu season to check the kids. The thermometer was completely random in its temperatures. I would check one child and it would say 99.5 and I would check again 30 seconds later and it would say 96.8. It did this on every person I checked. I returned it and bought a more expensive one. Don't waste your time or money on this.
I bought this when my baby was born to make taking her temperature easier. The instructions with this thermometer said to take three readings and average them to find actual temp, but the readings were so different (e.g., 98, 103, 101), that I didn't feel an average was a reliable temp.
We had purchased this product 2 years ago and had nothing but problems. Althought this product was easy to setup, it does not give accurate readings. We had temperatures varying by 4 degrees when taken moments apart. The temps were low when our baby was obviously febrile. do not waste your money, buy the braun. mush better product.
My son (18 months) never liked to get his temperature taken under the arm, so I thought I would purchase an ear thermometer to solve all of our problems. Bought this one, and opened it, tried it on my husband, his temp was 96.2 (not normal), tried it on my son, his tep was 97.7 (somewhat normal), tried it on myself, my temp was 101.3 (not normal for a healthy person). For 3 days I repeated this process and each day was similar. Took it back to the store on the 4th day. I felt fine each time, no fever, unlike what the thermometer said. Try it if you want, but I don't recommend it!
we bought this right around the time our daughter was born figuring that it would be a little easier to take her temp. but it hasn't it won't fit in her ear right and it gives different temps each time, it does so-so in an adults ear but it still gives different temps no matter how close the readings are took together
