Love this gate . Ours broke after 5 years of constant wear. We ordered this and had it the next day. Perfect banister to banister gate and so pleased with JET as well [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
We use this to keep the animals out of our bedroom. We only mounted it today, so far, so good. It looks sharp too.
I don't have great faith in the plastic components. I'm afraid they will not hold up to the continual opening and closing. They just don't seem that sturdy. Time will tell. Also, it seems that the design could be a little more simple. Takes a little concentration to assemble. Once you have done it, it is a snap. However, figuring it out the first time is a little much. This package had obviously been a return, already opened. One of the slats was completely broken and it's easy to see why, very thin, and mortised into the main rails, so even thinner at the mortise joint. I wonder how this would have stood up to a rambunctious toddler, Too bad, as it was the best looking one I found.
