I normally never, ever buy prepared burger patties but this night, I did. I purchased Sam's Choice Angus Pub Style burger patties (4 half-pound burgers to a box). I was so impressed with how juicy and flavorful they were. I sautéed mushrooms and onions, broiled the burgers with just a little salt and pepper on them, put the mushrooms & onions on with a little shredded mozzarella cheese then put them back under the broiler to melt the cheese. I have rarely enjoyed a burger this much. I would love to know what cuts of meat go into making these burgers. The grind was fairly rough, not the tiny, fine grind you normally find with packaged ground beef. I did nothing extra to them but put them on buns with a bit of the extra juice drizzled on the buns themselves. These burgers were out of this world. I will certainly try them again and try one or two of the other varieties in this line.
A fried of mine who is particularly selective about food quality, and I had these recently from the Walmart Store in Carlsbad, NM. They were indeed excellent. However, the Walmart Store in Carlsbad indicates that Walmart no longer carries this product. They say it has been discontinued. You still show the product online and actually indicate it is in stock at the Carlsbad, NM store. WHY?
No fat content was given on the box. 6 burgers (1 and a half boxes) produced a whole cereal bowl of fat and there was still more in the pan. Some people like that, we don't. Flavor was mediocre.
