For a none smart phone it does everything you could want from your phone.
This phone is a good quality phone for the price. Average size and weight, not to bulky, and keypads are easy to use. The user is hard of hearing and says he can hear the phone when he gets a call and the person with whom he's talking to loud and clear. He's had it for about a month now and gives it a thumbs up.
We bought this because my father-in-law had a phone that quit working properly, and we were ineligible for an upgrade from AT&T. This phone accepts SIM cards, as well as the ones with prepaid time on them. It has Bluetooth that worked fine straight out of the box. It isn't fancy, but it gets the job done well, and I have a 75 minute prepaid card just sitting around now.
I had purchased a more expensive no contract phone returned it for this one. Simple to use and good price.
Bought this phone for my niece whose iPhone was having difficulties, and it works fine. The SIM card was compatible and she was still able to text and check email.
Decent, low-end phone. But for $4.11 more you get $15 in air time when purchased at the Walmart store.
My wife's highly touted AT&T Motorola Razor V8 started having issues after just one soft drop on the carpet. Then A197 replaced it to avoid getting into another 2 year contract. It matches the Razor in sound quality in normal and speakerphone, beats the Razor by MANY times in battery life, looses to the Razor in camera quality, LCD screen quality/size and customization. It is much lighter than the Razor (some like heavier phones for some reason), a little smaller overall but a shade fatter. Other than the cool factor, this is definitely WAY better value for money. My wife (a non-power user) prefers the A197 over the V8! After this, I will NEVER pay premium for another Motorola product; I guess this says it all!
bought 4 my husband had not even a week left in his back pocket an it broke the screen when he sat down
