[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This cooktop replaced a 6 year old Kitchen Aid cooktop (see attached picture), which I had previously thought was high quality. Well, I guess I was basing that opinion more on the brand than the actual cooktop! The Samsung is far superior. Comparing similar sized burners, the Samsung is more powerful, which means I don't have to turn up the setting to the point of the flames coming up the sides of the sauce pan to get it to boil (My kids eat a lot of pasta!) The grids are very sturdy, and really make the cooktop look a lot more expensive that it really is. The blue indicators on each control make it very easy to determine when a burner is on (important safety feature). This is something my old Kitchen Aid did not have, and there were a few occasions where a burner was turned down low and not noticed for many hours! Thankfully, no accidents though! I haven't had a need to use the griddle yet. This is something I didn't have with the Kitchen Aid, so I will have to find something suitable to cook on it and give it a go. I was curious to find out what smart features a gas cooktop could have, so I connected it to my Smart Things app. All I can do is view the status of the burners (on or off). This was to be expected, I guess, as there isn't really much else it could do! It would be nice if I could include the status in an automation though. Maybe something like: If the cooktop is on when the night time mode is activated, send a notification to alert the status.
We just bought this smart gas cooktop for my parents a few weeks ago and we're in love with it. The cooking temperature is amazing and the build quality is superb. We bought it mainly for its smart integration features and they don't disappoint. My parents are elderly now and I have a fear of them leaving a burner on and going to sleep, but with this cooktop thats a thing of the past. Besides the fact I can check if a burner is left on right from the app, I programmed several routines to alert us to our smartphones if a burner has been left on for different durations. I even get alerts on my Samsung Bespoke fridge on the family hub. If you don't carry your phone around the house, each knob has an individual blue LED to alert anyone which burner is on at a glance. This is exactly what we were looking for and would recommend 100%. On a side note the WIFI/bluetooth transmitter sticks out about 2 inches from the back of the unit, so make sure you have enough clearance behind the cooktop to accommodate for it. You can remove it and it does have a cover to replace it, but for us that would have defeated the purpose for which we bought it. We did have a granite backsplash about an inch behind our old one that we had to alter to make it fit, but it was totally worth it!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I had my new Samsung built in Gas cooktop for 3 weeks now and it has been wonderful cooking meals for my family. I upgraded from a 19 year old cooktop that was still working but was not easy on the eyes. The Samsung fits right in to a modern kitchen. Its very sleek and the blue light under the knobs are beautiful to look at. The burners are easy to control and I like having a big burner in the middle which makes it convenient for bigger pots. The griddle is a plus! My kids love cooking pancakes on it. This cooktop came with wifi which enables me to see if all the burners are turned off by logging in via Smart things App. It seems simple but a great safety feature specially when you have kids or older parents living with you. Overall I am extremely happy with my Samsung Gas Cooktop.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We've had this for a month now and it works perfectly! Lights quickly and it's easy to dial in the perfect flame. And I love the blue lights that let me know the gas is on.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This cooktop has been wonderful. The black stainless steel is gorgeous, and looks much better than the white cooktop it replaced. The cast iron grates are nice and heavy, and don't move around when moving a pot or pan. The griddle is also really nice to have, and is great for pancakes or French toast. The light up knobs are also a nice touch, and makes it easy to tell if a burner was left on unintentionally. Some 5 burner cooktops place the center burner at the very back of the cooktop, where Samsung has placed it directly in the center of the cooktop, which makes it so much easier to access. The center burner is also a dual burner, and is high BTU, so it's great for stockpots and quickly boiling water and such. The only cons I can think of are related to the Smartthings integration. The LED light on the side is bright and distracting at times. There's no option to dim or disable the light without turning off Smartthings integration. Likewise, being a gas stove with physical valves, and such, the smart functionality is limited to being able to tell if the burners are on, or off. That's it. It's kind of a wasted add-on at that point. However, all the pros far outweigh the cons, and this is a great cooktop with tons of good features.
we replaced a 12 year old ge profile 36" cooktop with this unit and loved it the moment we tried it first. lights up quick and lots of intense heat when we need it. boiled water quickly for milk tea on the center burner and kept it simmering on the low setting without scalding the milk or boiling over. lots of space to cook with & the flame is even on each burner. until this point, it would've been a 5/5 review but then came the clean up. my wife used the same scrub pad she's used on the previous cooktop and once she wiped the surface, there were scratched everywhere. it's so painful to see how easily the surface got scratched on the very first cleaning of the cooktop. it's so painful to see the scratches. the ge never had any scratches from the same non-scratch pads.
i would give it 5 stars except. i cleaned the metel burners with oven cleaner and some of the solvant got on the front panel now it is discolored and it cannot be replaced. be very careful when cleaning near the knobs and front panel. samsung basically told me tough luck:(
Hello, I currently own a new four-door flex fridge and a new washer and dryer all of which is Samsung. I'm considering purchasing a new double oven, a cooktop and dishwasher - all Samsung. Does anyone know if Samsung has done anything to fix the problems with the finish on their appliances? If not, I will purchase another brand.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] One of the burners doesn't work. It blew out within a few months of owning it. The top panel where the knobs are is not metal. It stained immediately with a stainless steel cleanier and it it ruined now. I do Not recommend this range.
Knob surface is metal but, inside is plastic. After 3 years, four of the five knobs broke. Replacement knobs are $180-$200 each. Look it up yourself, "Samsung NA26N9755 knob". Generic replacement knobs didn't fit. Buying a new unit instead, do not plan to buy Samsung again for any appliance.
