I upgraded to the S7 Edge from the S5. I've had it since March 10th. I love this phone. Note that since I skipped the S6 a lot of the features of this phone are brand new to me. I love the edge menus - it gives you a lot more room for apps/widgets/etc. without gunking up your main phone pages/menus. I love the weight and material. The S5 has a plastic back so the metal back and sturdiness is new to me and I like it a lot. The battery life is absolutely great. Also, the fast charger it comes with charges the phone incredibly fast (around 2 hours for a full charge). I like the security of it being waterproof although (knock on wood) I've never had a problem with ruining a phone due to water. The camera - OMG - this camera takes incredible pictures. INCREDIBLE. The phone can actually see things that I can't see with the naked eye. I'm attaching a picture of my keyboard I took when I was first setting up my phone. I know - lame picture, but see the little piece of whatever under the N key, and all of the dust, well, that is not visible to my naked eye. I would highly recommend the phone
I have owned a Galaxy (even the tablets) since Samsung released the Galaxy series. I would never go with another brand ever. So far this has been the best Galaxy yet. I am very impressed with the camera and how quick it snaps your picture. It's hard to get a good picture when you have a very active 5 year old. Would recommend this phone to everyone.
The camera is the biggest improvement, if you love taking pictures and shooting low light images, this camera will blow anything else out of the water. It has incredible focusing, the fastest I have ever seen on any camera, including my DSLR. The auto focus on this phone is just amazing. Always on mode constantly displays notifications without the need to unlock the phone. Again, the battery is so good.
I tried for 6 months to see what the hype was all about with the new iPhone and couldn't understand the fad, it was fast but the same old same boring phone it has always been. So I went back to my lovely Galaxy life, picked up the new Galaxy 7 Edge at first, it was too fragile and hard for me to swype, so went with the non edge S7 and man do I love it!!! Solid built, great for one hand swyping and fast! The most impressive factor for me though was the battery life, I do about 25 GB a month of LTE streaming so heavy user here and I get a full day from 9 am until around 8 pm without having to charge it and when I do is for 10 mins and that's more than enough for the rest of the next until bed time around 2 am. Overall I am once again a very happy Galaxy Man. Thanks Samy.
I had to get this phone in replacement of my Note 7. At first, I thought that I would be getting a significant downgrade, but after having the phone, it works great! Very similar features, and so far, I am experiencing no troubles at all with the phone. Samsung has once again, surprised me.
This is, hands down, the best android experience to date. Fast, and capable of anything you can throw at it. If the plastic build of the past has kept you away from the Galaxy S line, now is the time to give this a try. The Galaxy S7 Edge fits well in the hand and and is probably the most sleek phone around at this time in my opinion. The glass on the back, though beautiful, is slippery, but the curves give it a great feel in the hand. The notification light that I miss from certain manufacturers is included with this device. Camera is excellent in low light and focus' immediately, don't let the drop in megapixels from the last generation fool you. Photos come out better than previous builds, due to the larger camera sensor allowing more light to pass through, in return, higher quality photos. Battery life with my normal use is about a day, usually ending in the evening around 30-40% in my case. In my opinion you cant go wrong with this device.
This phone is the best phone I've ever owned. It has many great attributes, including long battery life, a clear, bright screen, fast and smooth movement, and it is super thin. The best feature, though, is its amazing camera. I just took a trip to Costa Rica and some of the pictures look better than any post card. My friends with Iphones were blow away by the quality of photos and the bright sharp display. In fact, they were amazed by how much more bright and clear the screen is in direct sunlight, compared to their IPhone 6's. The fact it is waterproof is just gravy. Another great feature is the ability to double tap the control button and instantly have the camera ready to go, without having to unlock the screen. I absolutely love this phone, and highly recommend it.
I love my new Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge. I've used all the Galaxy line since the Galaxy S Fascinate, and many other brands. But none can compare to the elegance, performance, and just overall awesomeness of the S7 Edge. So many features and useful tools, I've always wanted in a device. Only thing now is to have Nougat update...coming soon. It will give me the few features in the OS that will make this a complete over the top must have phone. Feels great in the hand. The rounded edges and glass front & back make it a comfort to hold and use. The edge menus are off the chart...I never thought I would use anything like that, but have found them so useful. I'm learning everyday something new I can do of the S7 Edge ajd not necessarily have an extra app installed to have that function--so much built into the operating system. If you need a smartphone for work, home, or just in general...This is the first place you should be looking...and when you are finished, come back and purchase your favorite color/model. I don't think you will regret it. Because of this very phone, I will buy the newest Samsung Galaxy model to replace my current S7 Edge when time comes.
Bought my S7 Edge in March and only had a few minor issues. The phone performed great. Yesterday my phone froze. After trying to reset it I saw a nice green line on the display (see attached). Weird thing is that my phone still works, the screen doesn't. When it booted up at first it gave me just enough screen time to be able to login after which the screen turned black. I that mode I can take a screenshot that gets uploaded to the cloud where I could see the phone was working just fine. Now here lies the engineering design fault. With this phone MHL doesn't work so you cant just hook it up to the TV and at least have some remote control to be able to backup anything. SideSync nope, TeamViewer nope either. SmartSwitch for PC wont back anything up as my phone is not set to File Transfer Mode. I could see how the screen could have been busted to cause an issue like this but my phone is in perfect condition, never droped and alwayhs in my OtterBox case without a single scratch. Just search for green or black screen on google to see that it's occurring more than you think. As of this morning I get no screen at all even when power cycling it. :(
My Edge slid off of the center console in my car and fell less than 6 inches to the floorboard. The screen shattered throughout the display. I had the phone less than 2 weeks and was required to pay to replace it. This phone was advertised to be somewhat ruggedized and water/dust proof, I definitely would not trust those attributes. The edge screen is nice when it is charging because you can see the time from the side, but when it comes to using the phone, the edge screens were more of a hassle than they were worth. I had to turn that feature off most of the time because the way I hold the phone and take pictures, it would launch other applications at the must inopportune times. I have been a Samsung customer for several years, but this phone does not live up to your reputation. Not satisfied with this phone and went to the regular Samsung S7.
