This is my first smart phone. Great buy at around $300 six+ months ago. Great phone. NO CONTRACT. Unlimited talk, text, and data. Originally bought with additional 3gb Speed boost (4G) but I didn't need it so I dropped that service. Phone now has 1Gb of 4G access per month. No problem since I have wi-fi internet access at work and at home. Monthly cost including taxes is $50.24. Never changes regardless of use. Phone uses Ice Cream Sandwich, Android OS 4.0.4. I don't expect upgrade to Jelly Bean on Walmart Family Mobile plan. I would have bought Samsung Galaxy S4 had it been available at the time. I will eventually upgrade, but I am good for now. I really like the fact I can connect the phone to my HDMI TV and watch internet shows and movies. I bought a second one for my gf. She likes it too. You will need a Body Glove and screen protectors, too, to protect the phone from damage. You will like this phone.
I REALLY ENJOY MY NEW CELL PHONE I HAD PURCHASED A PHONE FROM ANOTHER CO. AND IT WAS NOT WHAT I WANTED
great phone - however order online and was sent galaxy tablet - store agent gave refund help me buy phone in store. Store agents went above and beyond to help. Go walmart
This is a great smart phone that does everything the latest phones can do. Excellent amolod hd screen. Android 4.0.4 ICS and microsd memory slot. I am using it with a no contract phone service.
went from Vibrant, one of the first Samsung smart phones - to the SG II .. ! It performs very well, all that I need, and them some more things I am having fun with !
Pros: 1. Large screen display (4.52 in, larger than Galaxy S2 other versions - 4.3 in). 2. Preinstalled Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean (this is the most updated version that S2 could have). 3. Fast smartphone (1GB RAM, 1.5GHz Dual Core), although I don't use data plan, it's still fast at Wi-Fi mode. 4. Beautiful look (very stylish, compare to other rectangular S2 versions#, this one has the resemblance of the newer S3 or S4. Cons: 1. Battery drains a little fast #however this is very common phenomenon among modern smartphones#. Overall: The very best deal you can find in "prepaid phone" category, I don't understand why at Tmobile website the listing price of the same product is $360. Anyway you cannot go wrong with it. Buy this from Walmart, and plus a $100 prepaid phone card from Tmobile, you're all set #as a prepaid gold member#.
I bought the Samsung Galaxy S ii 4G as a prepaid phone b/c I didn't want a contract. My son, who has the same phone, told me that there wasn't a big difference between the S ii and the Siii so I got the Sii instead. I paid only $250! It is a beautiful phone with a nice size screen, good color, sharp photos. The only negative thing that I can say is that if you want a manual, you will need to google it online to read it. If you want to print the manual, it is around 200 pages---which would use a lot of paper and ink!!! My husband just bought a "dumb" phone from Walmart.com---a Samsung flip phone which DID come with a complete user manual. Why couldn't a more expensive phone come with a users manual???
Good phone for the price
My rating is based on the failure of the phone. I loved the phone but it let me down. I purchased the SII before I read the reviews ( problems weren't discovered yet ) I should have purchased the SIII, it was a little more money but has far fewer problems. Mine worked fine for months, I'm 64 and don't abuse phones. I use mine for standard things, talk text, and I use for my business ( Square reader for CC charges ). One day for no reason my bottom buttons ( home, menu, return and search ) just disappeared, read; don't light and don't work. In searching the web for a fix I find I'm one of thousands that have had the problem. I'm told the problem lies behind the screen and when they go in to try and fix it the glass breaks. That's a $250 part ! I can't find my receipt, strange for me so I have to buy a new phone, $279 for 7 months of service. Get the warranty !!!!....btw it says that it won't work in my zip code but it does and always did.
I loved it until it quit working 6 days after I received it. Have returned it to my local Walmart and have reordered a new one. Hopefully I will be able to give the next one a better review.
