I have shopped around for theses filters...this IS the best buy. Most other's charge more for ONE filter! I did NOT want the generic filter for my Samsung, I am very pleased with my purchase.
I previously purchased a cheapo filter from another website, the tap water tasted worse after being filtered (yes i went through the new filter process of disposing of water in the first 3-5 gallons. Just pay a few more bucks for the manufacturer filter, so you do not waste money as i did.
I got two for a good price and free shipping. They said the product would arrive in two weeks and I got it 4 days later after my purchase by FedEx. It fits on my refrigerator and my water taste great again. I totally recommends this :)
I love my Samsung Refrigerator. But I'm giving this review to warn consumers to please inspect your filter for small cracks etc before installing. My filter ruptured and flooded my house. The service technician had never seen this happen before, but said it could have been caused by the filter being dropped, causing cracks in housing.
The two-pack is an economical way to buy these filters.
Cannot comment on filter yet as it is the first time I have replaced it. However, removing the old filter was a problem had to call Samsung for help. I do think the filters are expensive but Samsung insists on their filters otherwise you have no warranty on refrigerator. Walmart was the cheapest by buying the 2pk.
Really, a filter is pretty much a filter, but I like to buy what the manufacturer recommends, even if it costs more, which is the case here. I really think these water filters, all of them, are too expensive, but these work well, never had any trouble and are very easy and quick to install. Its a filter, pretty much a non event unless it doesn't work....that's why I bought a good one and this is.
These filters never top tasting bad. I bought a box of 3 and threw the other 2 out. We have followed the instructions and we have run countless gallons of water through the filter and it still tastes horrible. Don't waste your money. Nice thing is our model refrigerator can operate without the filter. I purchased an 'in-line' filter to filter the water before it gets to the refrigerator.
I have a model RFG298HDRS Samsung refrigerator built in 2012. The fridge has been great and still works except for one small issue: new HAF-CIN water filters do not work. In fact, Samsung doesn't even list this model on the filter finder page, almost as if they didn't expect their product to last more than 10 years. I've been purchasing genuine Samsung water filters for the life of the fridge, and the last ones I bought won't work at all. The water can barely make it through the filter due to a design change. When I remove the filter, the dispenser works fine. Samsung seems to have value engineered themselves right out of a repeat customer when the time comes when I really need to replace this refrigerator.
