I have had an Android for the last two years and by no means did that phone measure in quality or features to the Replenish. I am also thrilled with the fact that it is eco-friendly, that was my main selling point, I have been making changes in my life everyway I can to reduce my "footprint" and if I can with my phone than I will!
I was hesitant to leave my BlackBerry and venture into the world of touch screen devices. What I loved so much about the Blackberry was the QWERTY key pad and I had not seen any touch screens that had a key pad that I liked. The Replenish was a fix to my problem. Along with the easy QWERTY key pad it has the really easy to use touch screen. The Android software is amazingly fast and the video quality is really good and almost perfect when using WiFi. I use Google for everything and the phone connects to your account really easily. The camera is pretty good but I think the video camera is even better. The expandable external memory allows you to take a lot of pictures and video, ad your music, and use your phone as a flash drive. The only down fall I found is that the majority of apps are programmed to save to the phone memory instead of the SD card and because there are a ton of sweet apps it takes up internal memory pretty quick. Other than the internal memory shortage the phone is fun, easy to use and still ready for business. I really can't put it down!
My phone has plenty of neat features. But, it has already started to freeze up. This Requires a re-boot. My Motorola product never had this issue. But, the motorola wasnt as nice looking either.......... I may go back to OK looking, for HIGHLY dependable soon !!
I really like this phone. It runs good most of the time, is easy to use and has quite a few features. I have had mine for a little over a year now. It's wearing down but still runs ok. It shuts down on me sometimes and can be slow at times, but I've also had it a year and have used it ALOT. The only thing I wish it had is more internal memory, I can't have more than a few apps an no games at all. I can't save half of my 'downloaded' apps onto my sd card and I can't update my apps because there's not enough memory. Overall though it's been a good phone in other ways!
Really like the phone and am having fun learning all the new features. Fantastic camera, takes great pictures.
When I first bought my Replenish, I was very happy with the upgrade from my Blackberry Curve. It had a lot of build-in features that I use extensively. Except the calendar didn't work. It doesn't have enough space to upgrade any of the very few apps that I have. To get the latest version, I have to uninstall the app and reinstall it. Battery life is about eight hours after six months of ownership. I get a "Cannot charge non compatible battery" message with the stock battery, and now it won't charge from my computer. It makes phone calls, though, which is more than my Blackberry ever did, and the battery life is about the same.
I am truly enjoying the phone. It is my first touch screen. The only thing I do not like about the phone is the short battery life and how hot the phone gets during use. Other than that, it is very sleek and sassy and the touch screen is easy to manage.
The phone locks up. Constantly shutting it down and removing the battery. Says the text memory is full when its not. I'm on my second phone. It started out great but as time went by it just gets worse. Not a happy campier with it. It makes me sad to know (feel) that if I was in a situation where I needed to use the phone, I don't feel asthough I could rely on it.
This phone never ceases to disappoint. I would start by listing the good things about it, but the only thing I can think of is the Android 2.3 operating system, which of course, is not unique to this phone. Oh, and that it's cheap, which leads to my major complaint: the build quality is horrendous. The entire phone is made of cheap plastic, with metallic paint that only makes it look cheaper. I understand that plastic can be re-used, which makes it "eco-friendly" but metal is just as recyclable. A metal outer body would have made the phone look and feel like a higher quality piece. I appreciate that the plastic screen doesn't shatter when the phone is dropped, but after a few weeks of use mine was covered in nicks and scratches. In addition to cheapness on the outside, the cost cutting continues on the inside: The 600mhz CPU not only is too weak to run many newer apps smoothly, but since it has to work at full throttle to do anything, the phone becomes hot to the touch, and the battery life is cut to unacceptable levels. At best, I can make it 8 hours before the phone dies. The small 240x320 display offers such low resolution that you can see individual pixels, and the measly 160mb of internal memory means that you'll hardly have room for your browser cache, let alone any apps. The 2.0MP camera takes pictures just a bit better than my phone from 2004, and the video quality is not even worth getting into. And if the standard-issue cheapness wasn't enough, my phone was cursed with a defective micro USB port, making the phone think it's charging all the time, even when unplugged. This causes the charging LED to remain stuck on, which drains my already terrible battery life to an unusable 3 hours. The idea of an eco-friendly phone is nice, but this one was built too cheaply to be a game-changer. I would have had no problem paying more for the phone, had the build quality and hardware been increased to match the price. But looks like I'll have to pay double the price anyways, the defective hardware means I have to buy another phone. I love Samsung products, and I'll stick with them, but this time I'll have to go with a higher quality device, like a Nexus S 4g.
Got 3 of these phone for my family and I've regretted the decision. I bought it thinking I was getting a good product for a good price but it turns out you really do get what you pay for. The phone is ok for a first time smartphone user but after a few months you begin to see the inadaquacies. The phone has less than half the storage of its competitors so even with a memory card, you can only have a few selected apps (some apps like Facebook & other games work horribly on this device). I've had to delete apps on a regular basis just to keep the phone from shutting down 2-3 times per day. When it shuts down it frequently forgets some of your settings so you have to reset them multiple times per day. Please don't buy!
