I expected this to be a little rickety, a little shoddy, but sufficient for what was needed. But, much to my pleasant surprise, this is a fantastic item. Great value for the money and as sturdy as one you'd find for twice the price. I just swapped out the pull knobs for some decorative ones and it is great!
We received this and I put this together in about 3 hours by myself. It was a workout but well worth. It is very neat, and sturdy compared with other lower priced products. The only drawback is that the paint is cheap and scratches or chips more easily than desired but mainly on the interior. Looks beautiful in my daughter's room and holds her TV and all electrical appliances.
I purchased the armoire & chest of drawers from this collection. Putting the armoire together took about 4 hours. This was after putting together the chest of drawers which took a long, frustrating 8 hours. I am not sure if the armoire was easier to put together or if the instructions were easier to figure out on the second piece. It is cheap & the quality is by no means great, but you get what you pay for. I would recommend if you are looking for a cheap piece that you will only have for a few years...this is definitely not an heirloom!
My husband is very handy at making and doing things and it took both of us the better part of the afternoon to put it together. The directions are terrible to understand and several times we had to take apart and put back another way. I love the cupboard but they need to improve the directions immensely
This is a nice product, and all the descriptions were accurate. However, the assembly instructions included were TERRIBLE. I tried to follow them but they generally told you what NOT to do, and not what to do. I went to the website to study the instructions on line, and that was somewhat helpful. However, after three hours of work, I called a professional carpenter to come and put it together. He came on three separate occasions and made a major modification to accommodate a larger tv than the cabinet accepted, but I wound up paying him $160 for his work on the $189 cabinet. Still, I'm happy with the cabinet but can't afford to buy much more!
I purchased two armoires, one for each of my sons' rooms. Their rooms are small and I needed to combine electronics, knicknacks, as well as some clothes all in one space. These armoires definitely did the trick. They are fairly sturdy and took about two hours to put together, though the directions weren't always very clear- but it was not difficult, just be sure to look at the pictures carefully, since there are not too many written instructions. One of the armoires does not seem to be as well made as the other, but I'm not sure whether it's the product or us, since it was late and we were tired when we put the second one together. Both the top space and the drawers are very roomy . We put a 19" t.v. in the armoires and still had room for other items on the shelves.
no it's not some beautifully hand crafted piece of furniture made from solid wood...but if you are looking for something in a kids room where you don't want them to ruin something that was pricey....or if you need guest room furniture that will look nice but doesn't need to be too durable, this is a great fix. just follow the directions carefully and make sure you have a power drill. i put the armoire together in about 3-4 hours. the nightstand was quick, just about 1 1/2 hours. be careful though. it can chip easily.
I bought the whole set...dresser, night tables and armoire. This is a good cheap strater set for a new home owner.....but its not the best quality. Dont get me wrong....I really like it, but it's not the best set if you're looking for somethng to be kept for years and years.
I really wish I knew how terrible this product is. Teh directions were terrible... took my boyfriend 3 hours nearly to assemble. The press wood cracked because it was missing hole it needed in it to be assembled. We ended up having to hammer a few nails into the top to hold it on since the side had broke. Since that side wasn't on tightly, the clothing bar wouldn't stay on as it was not long enough. I was very disappointed... I was expecting more. It does look nice in my sons room though, and I will be contacting the manufacturer to see if I can get another panel since the one we had was missing holes. Plus, this whole thing is terribly heavy...
When we picked up this armoire from the store we should have known. The box was pretty beat up, but we gave it a shot anyway. Not to our surprise, quite a few of the pieces were damaged, but because it seemed cosmetic and not structural we decided to just see how it would all come together. About 10 minutes into the project we boxed it all back up. The directions were poorly written and finally we decided that it just wasn't the piece for us and returned it to the store with no problems. We paid the extra money to buy a piece of furniture that was delivered and came assembled.
