[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The 5 gallon SmartControl container has a great design to it. With other cans, I struggle lining up to get the fuel out, but this container is so easy. It was a simple palm push and finger grab! I hope to find other SmartControl containers to replace my current ones.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] After reading the instructions and watching a video on how to use it, my husband and I figure it out. Very heavy duty, durable and bright yellow.. The Scepter Smart Control has a squeeze controlled flow rate that helps filling stuff without spilling a drop. Love that you can fill the container without spills and that you can't overfill.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is a new concept in gasoline/diesel containers. It’s not just a pour and go concept with gas splashing everywhere. Scepter has envisioned a safer and cleaner alternative with this new design. With the new design the gas only goes where you want it to and when you want it to go. This diesel container requires you to press firmly as you pour so that it flows easily into whatever you are fueling and stops perfectly the minute you stop pressing. The added plus is that it has a splash back design that keeps the gas/diesel from splashing out. This is a wonderful new innovative way to keep your hands clean and prevent spillage!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I never thought I would be so excited about a gas can. We have several different types of cans, and I manage to pour gas everywhere when I use them. This one however is the easiest can to use! You just have to push the handle and pour! I will never buy a different can again!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Scepter 5 gallon fuel container is very sturdy and very easy to control. Unlike other fuel containers, Scepter comes with a lever that allows you to control the flow of fuel, which results in fewer spills & less mess. To fill the container was fast & to distribute the fuel was even faster and less messy!
bad reviews that I read after ordering this item had me worried, until I received it and used it myself, then I realized that some people simply cant follow instructions.
This dispenses fuel VERY SLOWLY. I can probably dispense urine faster than this gas can dispenses fuel. The passage for fuel on the inside of the nozzle is about 3/8th of an inch in diameter (see picture). Not to mention there doesn't seem to be a viable mechanism for allowing air into the can to replace the outgoing fuel. I'm throwing this away and buying a better gas can.
I am 63 yrs old, so when I say this is the WORST Fuel Container EVER!!! I started using fuel cans when they were really cans, metal. Back then (1965) when Dad gave 25 cents, that would get a gallon of gas and 5 pieces of candy. This can 1st of all only has 1 handle on the top. The fill nozzle of course on the top side with a 90' angle. So to fill a tank you have to tilt the container at a 90' angle. The handle is totally useless on the top of the container. 2nd, the nozzle may conform to Government Regulations, but does not vent well. Your holding 5 gallons of fuel with a handle in the wrong position and the fuel is slowly going GULP _ _ _ _ GULP _ _ _ _ GULP, VERY SLOWLY!!! As soon as I use the diesel out of it, IT GOES IN THE TRASH.
This narrow sucker can broke my pump in a second
Obviously, whoever designed the opening has never bought or pumped diesel fuel at a truck stop before. There is a permeant mounted filter just inside the opening of the 5 gal. Diesel Fuel container. There is an instruction sheet stating to place the pump nozzle to the first ledge of the filter for best results. These instructions would work great for filling the can with gasoline but as I first stated, "Obviously, whoever designed the opening has never bought or pumped diesel fuel before.", if so they would have realized that the pump nozzle for diesel fuel is about an 1-1/2" in diameter and will on insert ½” into the container opening and would be setting directly on the top edge rim of the filter. If you were to try and fill this can with diesel fuel the spay back would be all over you and the container. If your thinking of buying this, remove the filler cap and take a look at the filter system it has. Will not work if filling with diesel fuel at truck stops. See attached pics. Also, I agree with review about government regulations is why the American people have some much junk on the market now.
