just right
works great. used to attach solar lights to brick and wood.
My guy used this tape to mount my AcuRite® weather station on our bedroom wall. And, I know it is an outdoor tape. We used it to help secure light bars to our Rukus RC cars, brushless motor, that run about 50mph. It went through puddles and wrecks that sent it flying 20+ feet. The light bars stayed attached. And the AcuRite ® weather station, it did come off. But not without great effort. I would recommend it to everyone. Except those needing indoor tape. Then I would just recommended a scotch 3m indoor tape!
We use it for a multitude of projects. Whatever you hang with it will not come off without effort. We put up promotional vinyl and canvas banners, mailboxes, exit signs, restroom signs, hand sanitizer dispensers, pictures, comm boxes, suggestion boxes, decorative pieces and coat hangers. The only problem you will have with this tape is trying to get something down after you hang it. Also, the red plastic backing is the devil to peel off.
I am in the building maintenance profession and i use this product all the time. I've used it to hold clear vinyl for a window on high speed doors, to hang suggestion boxes on the wall, to hold copper to plastic, and many other countless things. It's by far the best double sided tape I've found so far and still holding strong after being in use for over a year!
I am on the fence with this product. This does adhere two things together very well if one allows a day or two for it to set up first. It is no good to put a load on it too soon. Another issue is the difficulty to remove the red backing, which can be frustrating as the whole piece of tape will peel up attempting to remove the backing. I have found using the point of a utility knife, stabbing the red tape (just barely) near an edge and tugging up can separate the tape from the backing. Sometimes it works quickly and other times it takes a dozen tries. I suppose I recommend it mainly because there are few alternatives.
This tape is very sticky - so sticky that it sticks to the backing. My Solution: 1. Before you remove the tape from the roll, lift about 1 inch of the end off the roll. 2. Using your sharp and short thumbnails, work on a corner to separate the red backing from the gray tape. This is very difficult. See photo 1. 3.Being careful to keep the 1 inch of backing free from the gray tape, peel off the EXACT length of tape needed, and cut it off the roll using a razor sharp knife. 4. Firmly press this length of tape onto your item. 5. Firmly press the gray end of the tape to your item. 6. Holding the free end of the red backing close to the tape attached to the item, pull the red backing parallel to the tape and away from the gray end until the red backing is removed completely. Do not pull the red backing up; pull parallel. See photo 2. 7. Carefully align your second item and press it firmly to the exposed gray tape. Patience will bring victory.
I've now used this tape for three projects. If the surfaces you intend to stick together are clean (especially make sure you are completely free of silicone sealer residue, dust, loose or aging paint, aged wood, or similar) then this tape will stick and hold very well. It does not adhere to surfaces that are of questionable soundness and it won't stick to silicone sealer residue AT ALL, EVER. I just mounted some polycarbonate windows to a fiberglass boat, and the initial adhesion appears to be very good. In my case I'll secure the pieces in place with intermittent screws to minimize potential gaps as the materials flex in the heat/cold. For two earlier small projects, like holding my radio receiver in my truck's cup holder, and for holding some foam blocks in place to protect heads from hitting screw ends, the material appears to be working as well as expected. Two things I concur with from other reviews are that the backing is hard to handle and the material seems unreasonably expensive. Overall, this is a good choice for bonding materials, just make you choose the materials and prep them properly.
It did not stick and hold
It doesn't hold up 2 oz much less pounds. Can't separate the cover from the sticky side. Don't buy
