I have bought these sponges for years but the last package I just bought is aweful. After 2 uses of just washing normal dishes, they start splitting and disintegrating. I have never seen this before even with cheap sponges. Will be looking for an alternative
I picked up the package at the store. One end yellow, the other a greenish. Gave the yellow a pinch, I thought, "nice and thick!" and threw them in the cart. When I opened the package at home I found there were actually four THIN sponges. These Ocelo sponges used to be 1.0 inch thick. Then they were made 0..75 inch thick. Now, the thickness is 0.6 inch. Now, I wonder how long they will hold-up. Unfortunate, that 3M® quality has diminished so.
I have to agree with the more recent reviewers. I have been using 3M sponges for decades and these used to be sturdy, long lasting sponges. Now, they easily tear and fall apart within just a few uses. Apparently 3M has clearly changed something with this product, whether manufacturing process or component suppliers. The bottom line is that there used to be incentive to pay a little more for a superior product; now there is no reason not to simply go with whatever is cheapest.
Read the numbers to see it is a somewhat small sponge. I got it cheaper, and immediately when I needed it, at my local Wal-Mart. The shipping time advertised was a long time, well into my planning vacation time, but I received it two days beforeI left on the vacation.
My favorite sponge no longer. Why change a product when it's a hit? What have you changed that has caused so many complaints?. The last purchase I made was also inferior, it was noticable right out of the package. After only a weekend of doing dishes it was time to throw the sponge out when previously it would last a few weeks. One can only surmise that someone received a bonus by suggesting going cheap. Bad idea. I hope you can see by all the disappointed consumers that the change wasn't worth it. Bring back the product we were happy with.
I recently purchased a 4-pack of the Scotch-Brite Ocelot sponges "with a wave of color." I believe these sponges to be inherently defective. They broke apart almost immediately after being removed from the package. The tear was along the lines of the “wave of color." It just seems like a seriously flawed design. I would encourage the attached photo (if the attachment option actually works) to be forwarded to the appropriate department(s) to reconsider whether or not this is a product 3M would really want to continue to market.
I have used these sponges for years-lateothey all tear or split in the same place!!! It is extremely frustrating and I feel I am wasting my $$$ 3M you can do better!!!
I purchased the 6 pack of multi-purpose sponges and knew they were weird just looking at the color of the sponges inside the package, but now everything being made is bad quality. I did not expect the sponges to fall apart by simply washing a dish. All 6 are garbage. I've been using these for years and have not seen this before. Thus system will not allow me to upload a picture of what's left after washing one plate.
I'm extremely disappointed of recent purchases of your Ocelo sponges. They used to be reliable and durable and will last for weeks; but for some reasons, they start to shred and fall apart after a few usage.
We had been buying Ocelo sponges for years for kitchen use. Then a couple of years ago something changed. The sponges became very stinky after a very short while and what's more, they caused our granite countertops to smell of the same stink. We changed to another brand sponge and guess what, the stink went away - both from the sponge and from the granite countertops.
