Success for any tape applied product like this requires proper cleaning and de-greasing. Over years of RC model building, found that basic Lighter Fluid (applied in ventilated area) is best and evaporates fast. Over non-smooth surfaces outside, use an old toothbrush. And if this tape fails to hold objects, clean off all tape residues and now apply a light coat of medium CA or Gorilla glue to the new tapes. Hold in place (mask tape Gorilla glue). And don't expect decades of longevity for those outdoor applications exposed to elements of weather.
This stuff really sticks. Better than velcro! Using in garage to hold up tools. Works great. I think I will find many other uses for this in the future. (I received a free sample for my unbiased review.) [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

If you are looking for fasteners for just about any use inside or outside, the Scotch Extreme Fasteners are what you need. We used them outside to hang up some heavy metal signs and they are awesome. The adhesive bonds very well to the surfaces and the amount of weight they can hold is superb. So far they have been resistant to the wet mornings and hot sun during the day. We've found additional uses for hanging up things inside the house as well as using the fastener to seal things (eg. curtain around a window). I volunteer to evaluate products for 3M,and the company recently sent me a free sample of Scotch Extreme Fasteners,1 in x 10 ft. I use the's extreme fasteners to keep my flatscreen tv safely on the table it sits on and it does not move around anymore.So it is strong and holds on to things well.I also used the fastener to close a pocket on my purse and it works great.The fastener is a very long strip that you cut to the size you want and then you just peel off the paper and stick it on the object you want to hold together,it is like velcro but better because nothing gets stuck oit or to it but the other side.I have a picture to show how we used it to secure my tv.You cannot really see the fastener's pieces but that is what good about it too.It blends in. 3M gave me a free sample of this product to evaluate. I didn't know they made a product this strong and it came at a perfect time. The wood panel on the front of my cabinets in front of my kitchen sink had come off when a plastic piece broke. I was unable to find a replacement and found that the wood was too hard to drill through or hammer a nail through and I couldn't figure out how I was going to put this back up. It is also supposed to be able to be removed when work is needed on the plumbing under the sink. When I received this I thought it was the perfect solution if it actually worked, but fully expected it to fall off within a few days. This is a heavy, solid piece of wood and it's on the sink where it gets wet every day. It has been up for awhile and still holds as strong as the first day I put it up. I am truly amazed and loving this product! It's holding strong but can be removed as needed and put right back when done and so much easier than any other options I had considered. I bought the two roll box of clear Scotch Extreme Fastener tape for use on my RV trailer which experiences a series of earthquake-like events as we travel. It held everything I secured with it on a 1000 mile vacation and NOTHING moved or fell from horizontal or vertical surfaces inside and I used it to mount the remote control for the awning lights and a few other items on the outside. It wasn't affected by weather and the clear tape is almost invisible when not in use. I'm strongly recommending it to everyone who will listen. Fantastic product!
I received this product for free in return for my honest review. Living in Florida, it is difficult to find a product that will hold and stick in the Florida heat and humidity. We used this product to hang solar lights outside on our screen porch. Previous attempts have not lasted very long, they've been easy enough to put up, but fall off quickly due to the heat and humidity. This product seems to be sticking tightly; my husband has even mentioned using it to hang Christmas lights this year. Velcro products are expensive to purchase. This product comes with 10 feet of one inch Velcro rated to hold ten pounds. This much is enough for several large products and to have on hand in the garage for whenever it is needed so not only is it a pretty good deal but also one of those things you should just have in your garage along with a hammer and screw driver. I purchased the Scotch Mount Extreme 12 lb Double Sided Mounting Strips. They seem to stick very well, but I caught the devil trying to remove the red strip from the other side. The paper side removed easily, but I fought the red side until I gave up and went back to it the next day. Are all the strips made like this? Maybe placing a pull tab might make it easier? I've never had such difficulty with any type of tapes in the past.
I was given the sample for testing. I really like that it does not use the fuzzy side that other products use. Makes it stronger when fastening and less likely to wear down. Great to use in garage. The only thing I think could be better is the adhesive side. When i went to pull up portable curb it was the adhesive that came loose. I added a liquid adhesive to reinforce stick-em.
