Scotts EZ Seed Dog Spot Repair has a special salt neutralizer formula that minimizes the effects of salts from dog urine and repairs up to 100 dog spots in your lawn. Dog Spot Repair Sun and Shade consists of a combination of high performance grass seed, mulch that expands to surround the seed, a soil amendment that repairs areas burned by dog urine, tackifier to help keep seeds from washing away and a protectant to help keep seeds safe. There are three easy steps to success: 1) prep the area by removing dead grass and loosening hard soil, 2) evenly apply EZ Seed so the area is mostly covered but bare ground is still visible, and 3) saturate with water until no more water is being absorbed and seed turns dark brown. When EZ Seed begins to turn light brown, it's time to water again. Plant seed in the spring or fall when daily average soil temperatures are consistently between 55 F and 70 F, or air temperatures between 60 F and 80 F. For best results, keep kids, pets, and lawn mowers off newly planted seedlings until the grass is 3 inches high. We have had three different dogs since we bought our house 20 years ago. Everytime the dog would ruin it by urinating, we would have to use sod to repair the area. This time, after training Clay to use the "soft path" instead of the lawn, we decided to use this product. After the first application (4 containers), we noticed there were still some bare patches. We bought 4 more containers, raked and watered, and in 30 days we got the results we wanted. Great product, great results!

I sprinkled in an area that had been leveled out with red dirt and sand mixture that has been refusing to grow any grass.. My dog loves to dig and mess up the yard a lot . With Scotts EZ it was so easy to use and the grass is growing quickly in those bare spots my dog has dug around. I am glad this can cover up to a 100 dog spots in my yard because I move my dog around. Its great that it is 99.9 % biodegradable for our planet. All you need to is prep the area, apply the seed and water.

One can imagine how my backyard looks with dogs leaving their business behind and tearing up the grass. Needless to say, my poor yard needed some loving tlc. I came across Scotts® EZ Seed® Dog Spot Repair Sun and Shade. I have noticed a dramatic change in the landscape of said backyard. Scotts® EZ Seed® Dog Spot Repair Sun and Shade was easy to use. The seed mixture is more like granules with a hard material mixed in. The mixture come in an easy to use sprinkle style container. Seeding the yard was easy as all I had to do was push open the lid where it says lift. This turns the lid into a hand held spreader and allows for ease when sprinkling the seed mixture onto the "affected" areas. I did notice towards the end, I was getting a lot of dust while shaking. After spreading the mixture, I did water the seeds like the instructions recommend on the label. It took a few weeks before I noticed much of an improvement. The biggest difference I noticed is that my backyard is coming back to its normal and lush self. I do have a few patches where I have no grass, but I could easily apply another application with this product. *****I did receive this product complimentary in exchange for my honest opinion.*****
I tried this product in north Florida in June. I know the label say between 50-80F, but I wanted something take care of dog patches NOW. I did try on small bare patch. Grass did start to sprout, but at that point it dawned on me that I had no idea if this was the same grass I had in my yard and what effect it would have on my Floratam St. Augustine grass. I think I will have to explore other options to fix the patches.
