Got this as a coffee table curio. Guests love playing with it. Has a good tone. Easy to hold with your fingers and play with your thumbs. Nice carving. Check youtube for how to play.
This is a gift for my granddaughter, so I am not sure how hard it will be to learn to make music with it.. It is a beautiful and sturdy piece..
My wife admired the turtle kalimba, and I ordered it as a gift for her. She looked forward to its arrival but was very disappointed when she unpacked it. The coloring is paler overall. The painted surface is rough, and the carved details are missing in some places. The front flippers are much shorter. X8 has a fine reputation as a drum company, but this item is not up to par. This one is not worthy of being a coffee table item as another reviewer used it.
Although this is cute and I have always wanted one, it arrived with bent tines and I have never used it, so it is a dust collector. The packaging was a bit bent and the tin tines are flimsy. Waste of money, I wish I had of returned it.
Made in China. Label on bottom. No instruction booklet. Very cheap looking in appearance. Looks used. Dinged up. Not worth the money
