Nice and economical kayak paddles with decent construction. Arrived at my door a full week early!
I really like this paddle. The perfect size/length. Nice grips with a balanced not too heavy shaft.
Love the length of this paddle. So much easier to use.
I am 5'4" so was hesitant about buying a 96 inch paddle but I'm glad I did. lt is light and beautiful and glides me through the lake. Perfect!
Arrived ahead of time promised. I haven't tried it yet ,but longer and better materials than my current one. Can't wait
The paddle seems sturdy enough. I was able to use it to help push myself into the lake without much flex. I did not think it was going to warp or break. I was hoping for a good quality paddle with a colorful look. This is it.
A friend had a set of these and highly recommended them to us. The paddles are light and strong, the price was great compared to others of similar style and function we looked at online. We have used them for lake kayaking as well as in a 17ft light weight 2 person canoe ! (This worked amazingly well and propelled the canoe at a nice pace----easier and more efficient to use with our particular wide body canoe than actual wooden canoe paddles.) The Walmart shipment came VERY fast, within just a couple of days, and right to our door. We were ready to head out the weekend after deciding to make the purchase and are extremely satisfied with our decision to get these paddles from Walmart.
I bought this paddle as an interim until I could find a fiberglass 96 inch paddle for use with an Old Town Predator 13 fishing kayak. This kayak is 33.5 inches wide. I am 6 feet 2 inches, 215 LBS, so this 96 inch paddle really helped me get a better angle when wanting to cover some water. I found this paddle works pretty well for what I use it for. I have used it in river current and still ponds. On a few occasions, I noticed the plastic blade did flex quite a bit, but no damage yet. The rivets used to secure the blades to the aluminum shaft are still tight after some pretty heavy use. The 2 piece joint has remained tight. The shaft of this paddle is too small to use in a taco clamp. I use a couple of rest points molded into my kayak in lieu of the clamp. There are padded handle points that are the right size to grip the shaft comfortably for me. The pads also help hold the paddle across my legs while casting/fishing. For under 40.00, I am very happy with it for what I needed and would buy it again. I don't have to look as hard for a fiberglass paddle since I bought this one.
This is my second one of these paddles--not as a replacement, but for a second kayak. I have been quite happy with the first one, which is why I bought another. As far as the lower end (less expensive) paddles go, this one has been quite satisfying. (I also have 2 earlier models of the same brand and type that have held up well.) The hand grips are great, the drip guards do a good job, and the shape of the paddle works well. BTW, I have a fairly wide kayak, so I got the 96 inch paddle even though I'm not a tall person (5'4"). I once used a shorter paddle (84") and it kept banging against the side of the kayak. (Some recommendations say to choose the paddle length by your height, but you should also take the kayak width into consideration.) My 10-year-old grandson has also used this long paddle, and done fine with it. It's fairly light weight and easy to handle.
I use my inflatable kayak about twice a year. I bought the paddle for this purpose. I also used it this last weekend for an open deck paddle on San Francisco bay. We ran support for the "escape from Alcatraz swim". Nice that it breaks down and is featherable. The anti fatigue padding is silly. It slips around. I will probably take it off at some point.
