I've had a really hard time taking prenatal vitamins previously. They would always make me nauseous. I've been taking this one now for a little over a month and so far I haven't felt nauseous at all. I'm not pregnant yet, just trying to get my body prepared, so hopefully once I get pregnant they will continue to work well for me. Very happy with them so far.
I am having my first child at age 40 thanks to a nutrient dense animal-based diet that helped me reverse the damage from long-term veganism. These prenatals were recommended by my midwife and I knew I had to try them since I am already taking other supplements from SH. My energy levels have dramatically increased which I suspect is from the methylated B12 & folate. I also have noticed that the bioavailable form of B6 (pyridoxal 5'-phosphate) has been key in helping my liver process the excess hormones and thus keep my histamine levels stable. This formula is wonderful and I have been telling other pregnant mamas all about it!
This prenatal is night and day!! I have tried so many high dose prenatal brands since my first baby was born with a heart defect and I suffered a lot of depletion from that pregnancy (was taking Ritual for that pregnancy) I tried Needed for a year because it is supposed to be the best everrrr. But I could never take a full dose. It made me sick no matter if I took it with food or not, and I wasn't even pregnant yet! Now I can take all 8 in the morning if I need to and not feel sick. Also MOST IMPORTANT I feel alive! My healthy energy, skin and hair feel well supported, and I just feel so good! I work out more, sleep well and I have been on this about 5 months, along with an adrenal vitamin, antioxidant and fish oil (per my health coach's recommendation from test results) and hoping to start trying to get pregnant in about 3 months and I am feeling a lot more positive about my next pregnancy. Will update with the next baby!
I started taking Optimal Prenatal about 3-4 months before getting pregnant and I love it! This is my first pregnancy so I don't have anything to compare it to, but I've had no side effects, have felt great and have stayed healthy throughout my pregnancy. The serving size seemed a little daunting but I just take a few at a time throughout the day and have had no issues.
I started taking Optimal prenatal while in my 3rd trimester and I felt like I noticed a difference in comparison to what I was taking prior to this prenatal. Continuing it postpartum and it definitely gives me the extra boost in nutrients I need at such a vital time in my health! I also trust this brand far more than any other brand when it comes to a quality prenatal!
I've tried multiple different prenatals to prepare for an upcoming embryo transfer, and Seeking Health were the winners! No issues with nausea and I know that baby is getting all the nutrients he needs. The subscription service is great too! Vitamins always arrive quickly, and I love receiving the reminders when they're about to ship. Will definitely be my choice of vitamins for each pregnancy!
I'm so thankful a friend recommended these to me! I was not taking anything postpartum and was noticing the depletion, but anything I've used in the past always bothered the baby so I avoided supplements this time while nursing. I hesitantly tried these after my friend suggested them and immediately noticed that I was sleeping way better and my energy level isn't as low. And it wasn't bothering me or my son! Score!
I was referred to this company by a nutritionist, and while the number of pills required per day is far more than one (8 to be exact), after a month of consumption I have experienced no side effects. I plan to continue taking the supplement because of the ingredients, which unfortunately does not include the recommended iron or DHA /omega-3. I also find it a bit strange (and also inconvenient) that after you place your order it can take days before it's actually shipped! And the company does not offer expedited shipping. If not for the shipping issues and the number of pills required each day, my rating would have been higher.
So pros is that I trust this brand and this product! However, you have to take 8 a day, and every time I would try to even take 2,3, or even 4, I would get sick to my stomach. Even taking it with food/meals, tried it opened in a smoothie, and also just as capsules. So it didn't agree with me. However, I'm sure it's great for those who can take it! The ingredients are phenomenal! Check the video for pill size! Not hard to swallow for me.
I like everything except for having to take so many pills a day. I seldom get them all in. I get about half each day. I suppose it's better to take them through out the day, I need to find a way to get that into my routine. Other than that they seem to not upset my stomach so that's a plus.
