We got this in black. Our set looked great straight out of the box, no bubbles, cracks, or scratches. The square plates are awesome, maybe I think this because I'm used to round ones... But they put up contrast in my plain kitchen items.
I bought this set for my son's first apartment. It went beyond my expectations. It is much better looking than the picture. It is a great buy for the money. I had looked at other sets but none measured up to this one.
Might not ever chose black as it shows every imperfection in the plates, such as light paint covering, bubbles. Like the style and deep bowls. Using for everyday so it is alright.
I purchased this set to display on a bakers rack and it looks very chic. I don't plan on serving food on this but if I did I'm sure it would get scratched. It came well packaged with no damage at all. I love the square plates! It gives it a more expensive appeal. Good buy for $25. I'm buying another set.
I ordered these dishes because they look beautiful online. HOWEVER...if you read the reviews before mine, they state how they were scratched upon receipt. Not only were mine scrached, but they were also CHIPPED!! These plates are only nice looking on the web site and I assure you that you will be disappointed when you acctually get them. Buy these if you want to waste some time.
These dishes will do for a college student who doesn't have a lot of money and is just getting started living alone, which is my situation. I got 2 sets, and both had little scratches all throughout the dishes. I returned them and got 2 new boxes, in which it was the same case, and one of the dishes even have a small chunk missing out of the ring on the bottom. Basically you get what you pay for with these. They serve their purpose, and look nice for the most part, but have many imperfections throughout the entire set. They also have bumps in the glaze itself. The dishes i bought are black, so maybe the imperfections wouldn't be noticeable with a light color.
One plate arrived scratched. Overall sheen less than expected. will be used to expand my other black dishes set only.
Scratch VERY easily when they are stacked on eachother. NOT a good thing when it comes to dishes. Would not buy again.
Recieved it & when I opened thr big box I found the box it was in all torn apart & pieces were broke.
I was really excited to find solid black plates and when I got them out of the box they were all scratched up. I mean, I hadn't even washed them yet! After running through the dishwasher, they seemed to hold up fine, but whenever guests use silverware on the plates they're prone to more scratching. $25 isn't a lot of money for dishes; however, you don't want to replace them every couple of months.
