My house burnt down in a fire and I lost everything. The entire house had to be demolished, all my furniture and clothing were lost, everything. Except my lock box! The outside was (of course) burnt badly. The plastic latch had melted against the outside. We had to take a small hatchet and break the latch off. But when we opened it, everything on the inside was in perfect condition. I lost everything in the fire, but at least this one single thing made it through!
I love that it is fire proof and has a handle to carry it. It will also keep my daughter's important papers safe.
I recently moved and needed a safe place to store my documents, jewelry, etc. I am a little bummed I can't store my pearls in there, but that's ok. It is the perfect size and easily carried because of the handle. Let's just hope I never have to actually use it...if you know what I mean.

Excellent safe! Quite heavy, tight seal. I initially bought non-waterproof model 1200, but returned it for this one. Btw kudos to WM for hassle-free in-store returns and free shipping, including something as heavy as this! I was worried by other reviews saying this one is difficult to close/open. It's not my case! Both easily doable with one hand, no need to be stomping on it for it to close. Also what I really like is that you can close the lid without locking it with the key, the lever alone can secure the lid to keep it closed. Side note: these budget safes aren't for burglary resistance; the locking mechanism is rather basic and there are YouTube videos out there showing how you can open one of those safes with a simple nail polish.... Sturdy product, closes nearly airtight with a some rubber-y seal, lots of volume to store your valuables. Really satisfied with this SentrySafe product! Note that the color doesn't match the WM listing, my safe is actually entirely black, not blue as shown. But I think I've already read that somewhere on SS' website that black is their newer variation of this model. Have fun storing your nuclear launch codes in there!
I do not like this safe as it is very hard for me to open and close as I have very little hand strength to push down on the top and pull up on the latch at the same time. I only bought it as my old Sentry Safe with the lock in the handle on top would no longer turn and lock. I bought a different one initially but it was too heavy for me to lift and had no handle so I returned it and bought this smaller model. Everything I had to put in it barely fit but at least it has a handle to help me lift it. I wish I hadn't had to replace my old safe as it was perfect for my needs. Dont like the style change at all.
This product is somewhat heavy, so it feels rugged, strong, and able to withstand fire and water. However, the latching mechanism is made entirely of plastic. The key lock is metal, but it only secures the plastic latch. I think that it would be relatively quick and easy to break into this case. It would be a great (and simple) improvement to have the latching mechanism made of metal instead of plastic to add some security.
I purchased the SentrySafe Small Chest H0100 a couple of years ago, and the locking mechanism will not lock. It locked the first couple of times I had to access the items kept inside, but now it won't lock or stay latched. I'm using a waist belt to keep it closed from spilling the contents.
