I used o.b. for decades, but eventually realised that bits of polyester were showing up in the composting toilet's product, after 2 years of composting. So I switched to Seventh Generation brand because it's 100% cotton and thus biodegradable. I use the applicator-free type, so the only plastic to throw away is the tiny wrapper. I wish they came in the ultra size that o.b. offers, so now I have to combine super-plus tampons with "period panties" to prevent possible problems. It can be hard to find the end of the band around the middle of a Seventh Generation tampon when in the dark, or with rough farmer's fingers, or in a hurry, or with someone knocking on the bathroom door. That's a design flaw I'd love to see corrected. Still a great product, though.
I love these! They are as effective as o.b. (My fave brand up til now). Plus I love their mission, and that I can trust them when they tell us what's in their products :) I received a free product for the purpose of my review. Opinions are 100% my own.
These are super comfortable and eliminates the inconvenience of an applicator.
In trying to be more conscious of harmful chemicals used in feminine products, I like seventh generation products. It wasn't until I got older until I realized mainstream brands use very harmful substances which we basically put inside of our bodies. I recommend these for someone trying to live a ‘cleaner' lifestyle to avoid as much harmful chemicals as possible. They are a bit more difficult to insert without applicator, I actually prefer the applicator type. They are much easier to use.
I started using seventh generation tampons about a year ago. let me just say my period is lighter, my cramps less and my period related migraines are almost nonexistent. i ran out and had to buy non organic tampons because the store that carries them was too far away for a quick buy. i couldnt even finish the box! my old symptoms came right back. i now buy enough for a stash and some for my daughter too (she lives out of the city). i will NEVER go back! thank you
This is a great organic alternative for the major competitors in feminine hygiene. The product is at a standard price point and offers a lot of great benefits. I would recommend this to others looking for an organic product this does not have a cardboard applicator.
I think they are great all natural and they fit great
Just switched from using OB brand, which was suddenly causing me great discomfort with itchy, painful rash. Seventh Generation Tampons, made from organic cotton, has done the trick with comfort and no nasty rash. Thanks so much Seventh Generation for making a great feminine hygiene product!
A while back I read about how some companies use chemicals to treat the cotton used in feminine products. A concept that hadn't even occurred to me. Once alerted I made sure that i only used organic products for my feminine needs. Having “Shark week” every month is already obnoxious. No one needs their tampons attacking them…figuratively of course, haha. With Seventh Generation's cotton tampons I don't have to worry about that. They're comfortable and do their job. I've never experienced any spotting or leaking. Sorry if that's TMI. The point is they work! And I definitely recommend them :)
This is a great tampon, however almost not worth it since the applicator is so difficult to use. Could be an engineering thing they need to fix, but its hard to push the tampon through the applicator without using some force. You can imagine this would cause discomfort.
