I bought this for my grandson as a toy to help keep him busy after his new baby sister comes in December. Appears to be very well made and I love your toys!!
This is the perfect clock for my granddaughter to learn all the shapes and to tell time. She already knows her numbers from 1-20. I will ask her to pick up the oval and she will get it. I'll then ask her to give me the name of the number that is on it. She will give me the number(7) and then put it in the right spot. This we do four times a week.
I bought 3 clocks for my younger grandsons. I want them to be able to tell time on an analog clock in this digital world. We haven't opened them yet but I'm sure my son will help the kids learn to tell time. Thanks for your great products!
It is for my 1 year old great granddaughter and she loves it. I love that it is wood and well made. I love that all the numbers are different shapes. Thanks
I bought this gift for my 3 year old grandniece. She is out of school due to the pandemic and her mother was stressed keeping her occupied. I bought this clock and my grandniece is over the moon with excitement. She loves the colors and is having big fun putting the different shapes in their respective slots on the clock. She knows her shapes by their corresponding names and calls them out as she puts them in their slots in record them. Even thought she has conquered this goal of the toy, it is still her favorite toy. Now she is learning to tell time. My nieces can't thank me enough for introducing them and their children to Melissa and Doug. The kids are engaged and focused on conquering the object of the toys and games. Melissa and Doug are by far the best toy makers on the Planet.
The fun of this wooden clock is that kids can turn the minute and hour hands for time, they can count, match shapes, match colors and explore. I like that the 3 is a triangle with 3 sides, the 4 is a square, the 5 is a pentagon, the 6 and 8 are a hexagon and an octagon so kids can learn different shape names. I love the extension activities that are listed on the back. The clock is sophisticated enough to grow with the child for several years of interactive play.
This has been a favorite of every toddler who comes in our house! They can't help but put the shapes in their spots either sorting by color, shape or number. I can't wait to teach time with it when my 2 year old is a little older:)
Got this for toddler grandson, age 2. Good transition from sound making shape puzzle. He's just mastered recognizing colors and is starting to count as well as naming different shapes so this enhances new skills while reinforcing the old. Like all Melissa & Doug products this is very well made and can past the test of time.
The hour hand doesn't move when you move the minute hand! My whole point of buying this was to show my grandkids how to tell time, and a really big part of that is having them move the minute hand and see how the whole thing MOVES! Now I have to show that on a real alarm clock I bought, and have them kind of compare it to this one. Extremely disappointing.
We loved this at first, however with frequent use the top layer of wood begins to warp around the outside of the clock. It comes off in pieces creating sharp edges. Watch your child while they're playing!
