The fact that we have to live in a carpet apartment drove me nuts. However, this is a game changer for me. The suction power is super powerful, it helps me keep the house clean. My kid loves watching I vacuum thats what I enjoy, I dont know why, the noise was not bad at all. The odor with the vacuum is a plus, I feel the floor carpet is really being cleaned.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is my first time ever owning a Shark vacuum. My dog doesn't shed alot but the women in the house (there are three of them) lose a ton of hair. So with that being said my favorite thing about this vacuum is that the hair doesn't get all wrapped around the brush roll. My last vacuum had so much hair wrapped around it. It was so easy to put together. I didn't even use any directions. It was easy as 1, 2, 3. And boy does it look sharp. It's a really nice looking vacuum cleaner. I like that it isn't big and bulky so it's easy to store away. My most favorite thing about it is that you can detach the pod to clean in other places then the floor. Like up high places or I used it this way to vacuum my stairs. It made it so much easier than carrying the whole vacuum up with me. The suction is great to. My old vacuum was really old so when I started using this one I was shocked how well it picked up and how great the suction was. It's also easy to empty. This vacuum is a dream.
I got this today. I vaccumed very frequently and even spot treated carpets. I got this cause my vacmop(different company) stopped working. So i thought time for brand change even if doesnt mop. I am glad i did but so disturbed at what came up. I consider my self a very. Very clean person. But my device was failing me. I am grossed out. 10/10 do not get this if you are afraid to see what other vacs have missed
I've had mine for about a week now and am very impressed. To start, its very quiet compared to any other vacuum I've owned and quite light as well. As a whole it looks very sleek and compact as well. The LED light is quite bright and really helps you see what you're vacuuming up on hardwood floors. Speaking of hardwood floors, it cleans them better than any other vacuum I've had. The front roller in combination with the fins do a great job of picking up dirt and most important, hair. My only small dislike of the vacuum is how much it can pull while on carpet. Its almost too powerful for its own good and tries to run away from you but thats just me being nitpicky. Overall an excellent vacuum and highly recommended
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] How glad I am that I now have such a powerful and maneuverable assistant. My old vacuum cleaner was heavy, I had to make an effort to vacuum, and now vacuuming is a pleasure, it's so easy, the vacuum cleaner goes by itself and maneuvers perfectly around furniture, in all corners or elsewhere. Let's start in order, first of all, I like that there is a very long cord, now I really appreciate it, finally I can normally vacuum all rooms without an extension cord, what a blessing. And how convenient it is now to vacuum the stairs, furniture and other hard-to-reach places, no need to carry the entire vacuum cleaner with you, it is enough to remove the pot because it is detachable, this is just a salvation for me, now I like to vacuum the stairs)) I also liked the fact that the backlit vacuum cleaner is really a very good and necessary function, especially for people with poor eyesight or in poorly lit places. Even the most convenient thing is that there is a Self-Cleaning Brushroll, it cleans itself, there is not a lot of hair left on it, it is very cool, I vacuum cleaned and it is clean, this is some kind of magic. The vacuum cleaner has 2 modes for hard floor and carpet, which allows better adaptation to the level of the surface. The vacuum cleaner comes with a variety of multi-function attachments such as the Crevice tool, Pet multi-tool and Self-cleaning pet power brush. I want to say that this is an excellent, lightweight, convenient, powerful, maneuverable, multifunctional high-quality vacuum cleaner that I have ever had, I definitely recommend it for purchase.
I ordered this vacuum after watching the review by a favorite YouTube cleaning expert. I was impressed by how easy it was to empty the dustbin. Then, I kept the vacuum in the box for several weeks, not sure if I wanted to use it or return it for a refund. Honestly, about $200 is a lot to pay for any cleaning product. I could pay for many weeks of cleaning service for that amount and not have to do the labor. It will probably take the rest of my life to break even. 😕 I finally tried it out yesterday, vacuuming about 8 square feet of the dirtiest part of my bedroom carpet. You can see how much dust and sand it pulled up. I had already decided the carpet would need professional cleaning, if not replacing, so this was sort of an experiment. It actually looks so much better that I think it can last a few more years. The best thing about the vacuum is that there is no dirty smell coming out of it, no matter how filthy my carpet was. My old vacuum used to live in the garage because it reeked, even when I wasn't using it. This one might get stored in my clothes closet! So, I do recommend this vacuum, though I can't comment on how long it will last since I have only used it once.
We replaced our 6 year old Shark Navigator with these vacuum and have been impressed! The cord is long which is helpful in big rooms. The suction power is amazing and the odor neutralizer is an added bonus. It's a little heavier than my previous Shark but the quality makes it worth it. No hair wrap is so nice, no more needing to cut nasty hair out of the roller brush!
6 years ago I bought my first Shark vacuum. I thought it was a marvel of engineering with all the easily snap-on/snap-off parts which were so easy to use in any situation. Since the first Shark died because the roller brush became clogged without my knowing, I had an open mind when I bought this replacement with the self-cleaning brush. I loved the first vacuum because I could use the lift-a way vacuum to easily and thoroughly clean the carpeted stairs using the roller head. Now, I have to use the power pet brush attachment and make multiple passes. On the second use on the stairs, when I put the head under the bottom step, a hook on the handle caught the bottom of the carpet and could only be released by cutting the carpet. In the process, the wire is bent and the handle can only be replaced by using a sharp instrument to push the wire down and hold it in place.
I'll start out by saying that I have had several Shark products and have found I like them a lot better than Dyson. The last vacuum I had was the Shark DuoClean Liftaway and LOVED how user friendly it was. It seemed that every function was well thought out and perfect for easy use. It's been quite a few years and was time to upgrade, so purchased the Rotator Lift-Away. I want to love this as much as the DuoClean, but I do not. I will say that the suction is so much more powerful than my last, and I love that! I have 2 Australian Shepherds, so have a ton of hair always, and this picked it all up off the hardwoods, rugs and carpets. The other reviews that talk about the power on rugs of it pulling are true, but that just means you get an arm workout at the same time lol. This vacuum is not as user friendly IMO, and could just be my expectations. The cord is stationed on the right side of the handle, and would be perfect for left-handed users... it seems to be awkward to hold with my left hand while vacuuming with my right. The cord also gets in the way when emptying the canister or using the wand feature. Emptying the canister feels clumsy, as where the buttons are placed seem opposite of how they should be. Also, when reattaching things (canister, short wand, long wand), the connections seem poorly made and must be pushed back together with force to make sure they click tight. The short wand connection is very loose, and now squeaks when I push and pull the vacuum, and I will be contacting customer service about this as it feels as though it could just pull apart. As shown in the photo, the hair barely wrapped around the front brush roll after cleaning my entire house, and nothing wrapped around the self cleaning brush roll, which is a big improvement from the DuoClean. Overall, I love how well it cleans, but am frustrated by the quality/construction, and feel it is less user friendly than it could be. I will probably overlook these nuances and keep it because it does a great job of cleaning.
Pros: I have a wife and daughter who have long hair and this vacuum does an amazing job of cleaning the carpet with no hair on the brush roll. Suction is great. The self cleaning power pet brush works flawlessly with zero hair wrapped in the pet brush or the brush rolls. Con (only one but a big one): While the powerfins work perfectly, there is a major design flaw that I am surprised none of the reviews have mentioned (there are a lot of 5 star reviews from those that received the product for free, surprise!!!). When you try to use it in the lift away mode (or when you try to lift the vacuum with the handle on the canister), the canister lid pops open with the slightest nudge. The canister is held in place with a tiny strip of plastic that over time will surely wear out. This is such an easy to fix design, I wish Shark would have kept the latch from the Apex model. I have attached photos of the tiny wedge that latches the canister lid. Verdict: Do not buy if you plan to use the vacuum in the lift away mode. Due to the latch being plastic, I suspect that this design flaw would make the entire vacuum unusable in some time as the plastic wedge wears out. If you only plan to use it in the upright mode, it works flawlessly. I truly wish it did not have this issue, unfortunately I will be returning it.
