[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I do not typically heat style my hair and consider myself a beginner with styling tools. I have wavy/curly hair and I wear it up in a bun pretty much every day. My hair is pretty thick and about collarbone length. I really enjoyed using this tool. I found it much easier to use than a blow dryer, because I was able to use a brushing motion for the wet setting. It dried my hair in about 15 minutes, which is pretty fast to me. When switching over to the dry setting, again the brushing motion felt easy to use. While this did have a noticable effect in smoothing my hair, it is not as sleek a look as a dedicated straightening iron. One thing that I like in the design of this tool is that there are no press buttons. Instead it uses a knob dial at the bottom to select the settings. Because you are rotating the tool with your hands, this is great because there are never any accidental button pushes. Overall, the tool is a little large for my length of hair, but it was effective and I will reach for this in the future over a hair blow dryer.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I really like this it makes my hair so much less frizzy and gives me a blown out look. Only two cons would be it can be a little heavy and I wish there was a thumb indent to make it a little more ergonomic
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] So I actually already had a round brush hairdryer by a different brand, which I absolutely loved, so of course I was so excited to try the shark brand as I have heard so many good things about it. I will say it's a little on the heavier side, but it drives my hair, super fast and leaves it very shiny and sleek. I am very impressed with it! very well put together you can tell that it's not a cheap product. makes drying your hair very easy and gives a lot of volume.!!! I am so happy I was able to get this!! Go get it now!!!!
Love it! Works great! Doesn't burn my neck or break my hair like the old Revlon brush. I got rid of the Revlon brush because it burned my neck and burned my hair, and broke my hair. I have only had this for a few weeks. I really like it. I get great results without the pain in the neck lol
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received this product for free from Shark Beauty and Influenster in exchange for my honest review. This hair tool you can use two different ways. There is wet hair or dry hair mode. For wet hair mode, you have to have damp hair for it to work. There are 3 air temps low, medium, and high. I've been using high temp for my wavy thick long hair. For dry hair mode, you switch to the pink icon on handle. It turns yellow when heating up. Green means comb is ready and takes 2 minutes to get to temperature. I have noticed my hair has volume, less frizz/damage, shine, and smoother. The cons, make sure to put heat product In hair. Otherwise you smell your hair burning right away. Another is detangle and section your hair before you start. If you don't the tool pulls and gets stuck. Overall, this is a good hair tool if you want more than one mode. I would just suggest work in small sections. You can't do a lot of hair at once.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This heated comb is a straightener for wet and dry hair. It does what it's supposed to do but is way to loud and heavy. When it's on wet hair mode it uses cold air to dry it but the noise is to loud for my liking. I do like that it dries your hair quite quickly. The dry hair mode is quiet and works just like any other straightener but I like that it makes my hair feel nice and smooth. This product will probably be easier to use after some practice. I will continue to use and learn how to style my hair with this tool.
I bought the Shark Smooth Style a couple of weeks ago. I am one who is picky when it comes to hair tools. I want something that is easy to use with no damage and great results. The Smooth Style fits the bill. I have fine wavy hair that tends to frizz. The Smooth Style grabs my hair with no issues. When I blow dry I don't even section the hair. I just brush it and it comes out smooth. I would like to see a cool shot button to lock in the style which it doesn't have. What I really like is the smoothing comb. I use heat protectant roll my hair one time from the underside and it is so smooth and shiny!!! I generally blow dry my hair in the winter. When it is warm out I prefer to let my hair air dry and use the Shark Smooth Style. It is so easy!!! I was concerned because the comb temperature is high for my hair type but the way you use it your hair glides through so fast it doesn't get hot. I am sure Shark will improve the Smooth Style in the future and I will definately be on board to purchase the improved model.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have pretty course, curly hair so I was very skeptical of this product. It did a solid job at getting my hair mostly flat (albeit with some frizz) but it worked as a solid alternative to my usual blow dryer! It was a bit difficult to get the styler close to my roots so that's probably the main culprit to the frizz.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is an incentivized review. I received this product for free from Influenster and Shark in exchange for my honest review. Overall, I like the Shark SmoothStyle Heated Comb Straightener and Smoother and will continue to use it. I have wavy hair and normally use a hot flat iron straghtener on my hair. Unfortunately, I tend not to use it very often because the iron is awkward to use and I tend to burn myself on it. I also fear of damaging my hair with the excessive heat. I was excited to try the Shark SmoothStyle Straightener since it is more like a large brush than an iron. I was first impressed by the wet hair mode which is used to dry and volumize hair. I really liked this aspect of the Shark SmoothStyle. It uses hot air through the brush and it quickly dried my hair smoothly. There was no frizz and as much volume as if I would have used a typical hair dryer. The dry hair mode is used for straightening your hair. In this mode, it took only a minute to heat up. The brush is used in a similar manner as the wet mode. For my finer hair, it took some time to straighten my hair. I think the bristles are suited for those with thicker hair. For me, I will be working on technique to speed this process up. Finally, one initial drawback for me was the size and weight of the product. It is a bit heavier and clunkier than a typical iron and it took me a couple of times to feel comfortable with it. Overall, i am impressed with the dual mode (wet and dry) and pleased with the results. I am also impressed with the design to prevent heat damage on hair. I would recommend this product to anyone wanting to straighten their hair quickly and safely.
I actually really like this product but two there are two dealbreakers. First it is SO LOUD. I literally keep earplugs in my ears to use it because it is PAINFUL otherwise. Second the design of the turn dial is incredibly dumb. I will think that I turned it off when I actually turn it to the dry heated setting. Then I have to wait for it to cool down before I continue drying my wet hair. Super frustrating
