The microwave fit perfectly and works and looks beautiful!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I had the earlier version of this unit for nine years before it began to be unreliable, so to make life easy, I bought this unit and popped in into place in a matter of minutes using the old mounting plate - easy peasy. This oven does everything we need and more.
The microwave is exactly as it has professed to be. However, when I ordered it, I failed to realize what "over the counter" meant. I thought it was a "counter top". With the help of my friend, I got it home and we set it up. What I did was put blocks under it so the vent system could work freely. I do not have space to attach the microwave to the wall or under my cabinets. The 1100 watts are ideal. I am extremely happy. I put the hardware away for future if I choose to attach it permanently.
Perfect fit for replacing exact same model that I've had for 18 years in which the LED screen went bad. Did not have to use the new back plate or hardware for hanging it.
This is a rating in advance based on my existing unit which has performed very well for 6 years. I purchased the new unit to have a spare since this model is no longer being manufactured.I have a custom installation and new models unlikely to fit without significant cabinet modifications.
I am most happy that this model was a perfect replacement for our 19 year old Sharp Over-the Counter model. Once we were able to figure out how to take the old one down, the new one installed easily using the same wall hardware. In fact, the owner's manuals were almost identical. The old unit still worked but numbers no longer lit up which made it hard for guests at our house, lol.
It fits in limited space areas between cabinets and above the sink. It has 1100 watts of power making it one of the better units. Overall and Excellent Microwave. This is our second unit. We finally wore out the first one after more than 5 years. We use it several time every day. We like the first one so well, we bought this identical unit to replace it. Will probably buy a third unit so we will have a replacement if this one fails in 5 years.
So happy with our Sharp microwave. We have only owned Sharp microwaves in the last 20-30 years!!
This was a replacement for the R-1210 model. A very dependable and well-working m/w, but there are more modernand powerful models. The previous one lasted for 15 years!
installation instructions a little misleading, but we got it figured out. Not wrong, just a little difficult. Also, 2 of 4 wall anchors actually broke as we tightened them. Luckily, we had a few extras around.
