Like the ideas to be able to charge my phone
The clock case is painted silver. The numbers and date are digital--they glow white. Overall it looks kind of cheap. I ordered it online for ship to store. The clock arrived dirty, dusty, and scuffed up. I promptly returned it. Bad experience.
The alarm clock stopped working less than 24 hours after I plugged it in.
I plugged this clock in by my son's computer so he could get off his games at the proper time. I would tell him his game time ended at 3:00. At 3:00 I would check to make sure he was off, but he would tell me he still had 10 minutes left. I asked him if he was changing the time on the clock and he said he was not and did not know how. I would fix the clock and two days later it would be behind again. I fixed it several times before I gave up and unplugged it. I destroyed the box and no longer have the receipt so returning it is not possible. This was a waste of $18.
This clock looks cool, and seems simple to use (that was important!) but it completely died after about 15 minutes of being plugged in. No display - completely dead. I tried other outlets - no luck. Here's what I could tell from the few minutes that it did work... The display is white - as in the photo. There seemed to be 3 levels of brightness - High, med & low. I was concerned that the lowest setting would be too dim to see in the dark, and the other two were definitely too bright, but alas, I never got to see it in a dark room. I was already thinking I may need to return it and get a different model with a red display (I find green displays too bright, and this white display looked similar). Back to the store now...
Every clock in my house keeps time except for this clock. At first you don't notice it, but over time it keeps getting minute by minute slower. After being plugged in for 30 days it became 5 minutes behind. I haven't had the experiences the others had where it didn't work out of the box, or quit working not too long after. The battery backup seemed to work fine. However, this clock looks and feels cheaply made, and there are other better bands that will suit your needs.
Battery backup doesn't work. Returning for refund.
