It works excellent in any application and simplifies my life. As a shampoo it is as good as any liquid or solid I have used. It smells great, woodsy manly great, but my wife likes it too. I live in the southwest desert and it is less drying as a body bar or shampoo. It works great as a shave soap. It isn't my top choice as a shaving soap but still darn good. I take a partially used bar for travel and it meets all my needs as shampoo, soap, and shaving soap. I can't think of personal care product that I could recommend more. Obviously there is an element of personal preference like fragrance. We have been marketed into liquid shampoos, most of which are detergents and drying. I thought by father just wasn't with it when he washed his hair with a soap bar. It may have been old fashioned in one sense, but from my perspective it works better than any liquid shampoo I have tried. It works great for me. Maybe it isn't for everyone, but I would definitely recommend it to anyone, male or female. Good Work SheaMoistere, Keep up the good work and KEEP MAKING IT PLEASE!!

Please bring back the original version. It smelled so amazing now a very weak sent...it is just not the same. It was a splurge for me and now my husband and I wont be buying it anymore because it just isn't worth it anymore. SAD :( :(
I have been using this soap for over two years and was so happy with it I was buying 5 bars at a time. The last shipment contained new packaging and the fragrance was completely different. The ingredients are very different too. Unfortunately I do not like it, and will have to look for a new soap. It doesn't seem likely that a company would make a change like this, only to change it back based on a few negative reviews. So sad.
What happened? Unless they go back to the old soap the way it was, I will never buy any of their products again. They changed the ingredients for the worse! Old formula was AMAZING, and my husband bought 5-10 at a time. He ONLY USES THIS SOAP! He won't anymore, he said it's awful, completely different and they screwed up an amazing soap, and made it a cheap piece of c**p (his words!). Why can't companies leave a good thing alone? This decision was SO obviously made to increase profits, and goes against everything sofie tucker founded it on! Once again greed ruins a good thing.
Why did you change the formula on this perfect, amazing bar of soap? I received 5 bars today of the "new" stuff and I am so disappointed. The new stuff has twice as many ingredients, less organic ingredients, and added fragrance. It smells and feels different! Why did you do this? The old stuff smelled amazing and had better ingredients. Cocoa seed butter, shea butter, and mango butter were the first 3 ingredients in the original formula. In this new formulation, the first 3 ingredients are “sodium palmate, sodium palm kernelate, and WATER.” Not right, Shea Moisture. Bring the old formula back!
I loved this soap and have been ordering it from switzerland. What a disapointment when the new shipmemt arrived. I don‘ t understand why they changed the formula!
Product: Shea Moisture Three Butters Utility Soap Cleansing Bar - New Formulation (new packaging) Shea Moisture unnecessarily reformulated an already perfect product! Unacceptable! Clearly Shea Moisture does not care about their customers by insulting our intelligence. Did they not think we could feel, smell, and read the differences in the new formulation of the Three Butters Utility Soap Cleansing Bar (new packaging)? This new formulation is cheap, non-moisturizing, and does not smell as nice as the original but is sold for the same premium price. Shea Moisture is more concerned about their profit margins than customer satisfaction. This product is a disgrace to the founder, Sofi Tucker. This new formulation is not worth the premium price and is no substitution for the original. The original formulation was the greatest soap for men I have ever come across. I use it to cleanse and moisturize my body and hair, plus, I shave with it. It is a great 3 in 1 solution. I still have original formulation bars for side-by-side comparisons. In the new formula, the first two ingredients, Sodium Palmate and Sodium Palm Kernelate are common to most soaps, nothing special here.
