After going to at least 5 dermatologists, trying every cream/lotion recommended (usually petroleum based) and submitting my 3 yr old to several different strengths of topical steroids for over a year I've finally found something that works! It hasn't cured him but has improved his condition drastically. We apply it in the morning before dressing, in the evening before bed and under those heavy footed pjs (really keeps the moisture in). I always keep his nails trimmed to prevent the scratching. For his condition its key to keep him moisturizer at all times so we sometimes spot treat thoughout the day if I catch him itching, and as a last resort I use Benedryl topical to control the itching. No more steroid creams for us! One day of slacking on this regimen and we have issues! Good luck, I know it's frustrating!
I never write reviews but it was because of the reviews that I tried this product for my daughter...so I felt an obligation to give back! My daughter has ....or had I should say eczema behind her knees and she could not wear shorts all summer!! Until we started using this 'liquid gold'! I will never be without this cream, customer for life!!!
We use this cream on our kids everyday especially in the winter sometimes twice/day. We don't use any other lotions anymore especially since most have alcohol in them it was burning their skin and they would cry but not with this one! The only part is the consistency is a bit well less than easily spreadable but, we put a small dab of coconut oil with each application and rub it in your hands first and it goes on perfectly smooth! Plus it smells great!
I discovered my son had eczema the first bath he received on the day of his birth at the hospital. The skin on his back and chest immediately reacted to the horrible Johnson & Johnson body wash they were using. I was already a Shea moisture and Nubian Heritage fanatic, so when I saw the bumps on his skin I applied my lotion to calm his irritated skin. When my husband and brought little man home, we began to search for baby eczema products, not realizing we were already supporting a company that supported the very product we were seeking, LOL!!! It took about 4 weeks of research (we were using Burt's Bees Baby Wash & Baby Lotion during that time-it wasn't working) and we finally discovered Raw Shea Butter Chamomile & Argan Oil Baby Eczema Therapy by Shea Moisture. Our handsome son has never had an eczema outbreak since we began using this product and we don't plan on buying anything else. We bathe him with Shea Moistures Raw Shea Chamomile & Argan Oil Baby Wash. All the other body washes we have tried by SM (trying to explore different fragrances) actually DID irritate his sensitive skin, so we immediately threw those out and went back to the Raw Shea...& Argan.
Awesome product, I use it for my baby, for me and basically my whole family uses it.
After a desperate search of a product for My daughter's eczema flare up, I landed upon this. Her flare was horribly inflamed, firey itchy and bleeding. We literally exhausted all resources. The first treated was applied before bed and the next morning we saw results. I applied it 3 to 4 times a day for 3 weeks and it vanished. Now when I see small scales I apply immediately a couple tones a day. No flares since.
I have definitely taken this company for granted, I wasn't so sure it would work but I did more research and found that this is a phenomenal company and their products are amazing! My 2 month old son developed baby eczema and I was prescribed by his doctor hydrocortisone which smelled weird and also left my baby's skin looking patchy so I stopped using that and was just using greasy Aquaphor, I then discovered this product and just after one use my sons neck (where most of the patchiness was) was cleared up over night! The smell is amazing! It smells to me like lemon cake I love that the products are 100% natural, non gmo, and organic! A little trick for the customers upset about the quality of the product just pop it in the microwave for 20 seconds stir until grittiness is gone then place it in the fridge until it hard again and boom just like new. Remember it's a natural product so there will be some separation but it's an easy fix.
I love love love this product. I started using this when my son was three months old he is almost 7 months now and it is the only thing that he can use that does not break him out and has a great scent to it that is natural. We went through an array of different products and could not figure out why he was still bumpy and scaly. The doctor said that he was at the beginning stages of eczema or that it could just be baby acne and it had to run its course well I'm happy to say in spite of what the doctor said, and all of the products that caused him to have a worse break out like Aveeno lotion, the Aveeno eczema lotion, the Euercin, eczema, baby lotion this product despite the strong great smelling scent that it has it actually made his skin so soft and smooth and eczema free (if he even had it) the pictures speak for themselves I wish I could buy it in bulk because it never stays in stock.
My grandson is 3 and was born with Ezema..bad around his mouth. This product works wonders however I purchased 3 more to have at every location for him and can't use them on his mouth due to it being chunky . I tried anyhow and just too greasy around his Lil mouth. This is the only product he will let you use . I still have some from the first container and will use the other 3 on myself. Love tis product , what keeps happening? #concerned
I love Sheamoisture products, but this new formula is something I'm very disappointed with! The color is different, the smells off and I wondering if it still has the same healing properties! Every time I fall in love with a product, you all up n change something about it.
