Great purchase. I was looking for something sturdy because I work in a downtown area where a lot of umbrellas get turned inside out from the wind funneling through the buildings. This definitely fits the bill. The handle has a nice contoured grip and the stick is very sturdy. No worries about it cracking or breaking if you lean on it. The umbrella is big enough to keep you and your bags dry. When the wind blows you might feel a bit like Mary Poppins, but the vent at the top prevents the umbrella from flipping up. I got the red one because it's a nice, happy contrast to a rainy, dreary day.
I purchased this umbrella because I needed a new one, I really wasn't expecting any special or fancy, and I got it in red...When it came, I was surprised, it was nice and it came in its own holder and wrapped in a plastic cover. When I opened it, you can see at the top of the umbrella that if the wind blows there are holes that allow the wind to go through so that the umbrella won't blow away, which is exactly what happened to my last one.
This is an excellent item to have living in Las Vegas, NV. We don't get much rain here, but the sun is brutal and an umbrella this large is prefect protection from the sun while waiting for the bus and walking.
Although it was a gift for my daughter in college, she says she loves it. She especially likes the sports handle. I purchased an umbrella with aluminum supports and it broke easily. The fiberglass should be much stronger.
I love this umbrella. May be is too much to say. Only this umbrella is large, so large, roomy and it dries fast. Once inside just shake it well and it's done. Oh, and its also tall! No more small, purse so easy to loose. And I've lost a lot of them.
The umbrella was very nice, slightly larger than normal size, but my husband wanted a larger umbrella. The 60" described here went from one side of the umbrella down to the pole and up the other side. It wasn't 60" straight across which is what he had been hoping for. Therefore he returned it. Otherwise it was ok.
