buy extra filter - glue the wheels on, good to go.
I've had mine for almost 8 years. Is it loud, sure, but what vac unit isn't. I got mine as a gift for Christmas. I use all of the time for cleaning in the garage and when I do woodworking in my shop as part of the table top power tools. It take s the dust away as fast as my tools makes it. I finally had to replace the filters this month ( couldn't clean them any more so new ones). If you want one that doesn't make noise, good luck finding it. If you want a work horse, buy any of the Shop-Vac units. They work!
Very good vacuum. A little bit loud.
The only reasons I kept this purchase is because of the 3 hp motor and the fact that it has a blower port( the main reason I kept this unit), plus comes with the 3 year warranty. The lid does fit very loose( I put some small foam seal around the inside of the top to make the seal better and helps keep the lid from falling off as well as tightening it up. The blower port is nice to put a long hose on and run it outside if using for dust collection ( moves all the exhaust air outside). Overall this is made very cheap for the money it cost, if you want a good shop vac make sure you do your research first there is a lot of junk out there. I kept my purchase because it worked for my need.
I just bought this vac and put the wheels on tried it out, and then picked up the vac using nifty handle on top of the motor. And what to my surprise happened, but the canister dropped to the ground! I thought surely I didn't snapped those sturdy retaining clips. SO, I clipped them again, picked it up and it once again dropped to the floor. How hard is it to make it secure? Obviously, pretty hard when you don't inspect for quality. I'm so tired of JUNK being sold off under formerly dependable brand names. I will be returning this right away, and will never buy another Shop Vac product.
Shop vac tells me Walmart sold me a display model only. Now the one I want is sold out. Shop vac is sending me a motor with a cord!
I returned it ASAP. I do not recommend...too loud.
I bought one of these and just like another customer and I have the same problem. You lock the lid, try and pic it up and the vacuum falls in half. You're standing up with the lid only and the rest is on the floor. I'll never buy another one of these and suggest you save your money and frustration of having to duct tape around the lid to hold them together. Real junk and ShopVac has forever lost my business.
