bought one for me and one for my sister, they work very well, they are light weight and easy on ones hands. have used them about 15 times and they are holding up.
This paddle is built well. The price is excellent. I bought two of them and two kayaks from Wal-Mart for my sons birthday. As usual an excellent value.
I bought this paddle for use with my solo canoe. I won't be able to try it out til spring but it arrived in good condition and it looks ok. This is a 2 piece unit, 8 feet long with 3 feathering positions, and cost like 20 bucks... so can't really go wrong with this one. It will allow me to try out a double blade (kayak style) paddle without committing to a much more expensive unit. If it lasts one season, I will be very satisfied. I expect it to last much longer if i don't bash it against any rocks or docks.
Great price. I had looked for light weight sturdy paddles and this was the best value for the money!
Was looking for some cheap good quality paddles, I found them. These do the job, I'm no pro or a rookie, theyre excellent for the average user.
The paddle operates smoothly, sheds water quickly, is a very nice length for extra power, and handles are comfortable. Would like to have one more adjustment hole in the shaft for rotation purposes.
Needed a Paddle for my Canoe when I went out solo. Kayak Paddle seems the right choice. Dick's - $100. Kayak on-line stores - WAY TOO HIGH. Found this on a Google search and it was priced just right. Have used the Paddle several times and it works great. I really appreciate the little rubber piece that keeps the water from dripping down the handle. Cleaver.
I'm not a long range serious Kayaker - just paddle around maybe an hour at a time so for the money this paddle is fine for what I do, no problems with it. I'd recommend it to someone with same interest.
Rounded blade has a wave to it. This seems to help with splash compared with a rounded blade that's flat and is a positive. Hand grips are foam, not plastic sheath. The grips wiggle under strong paddling which probably diminishes the force imparted: Comfort with some loss of efficiency. They also gradually work their way out of position along the shaft. This requires occasional re-positioning.
Bought these a little more than a year ago (I like to rate stuff after I've used it a bit). They are still great. Not much you can say about paddles other than they are still in shape. Nothing has dropped off or broken. The foam hand pads tend to shift around a bit but that's pretty standard I believe after use (plus being in the care of 22 year olds, they don't always take care of stuff). Anyway, we love em and they are exactly what we were looking for. Decent paddles for a decent price.
