I absolutely love yogurt, however am very lactose intolerant. This is the first yogurt I have found that tastes great and doesn't make me sick. The downside was that yes, in fact it has a high amount of sugar, but it will not stop me from purchasing it again. I purchased three 24 oz. containers and went back to purchase more but they no longer had them. I have tried several different places with no luck. I am hoping to find more soon and the directory you have on your site helped with that.
Our family is dairy free and this yogurt is our FAVE! We use the plain in place of sour cream by adding a punch of salt. its great as a base for dips too! Alternatively, we can sweeten and add fruit for something sweet. So glad our local Walmart carries it!
My wife and oldest son have significant dairy allergies, and we're always looking for good diary substitutes, preferably without gum thickeners as well. We use the plain soy milk in mashed potatoes and other recipes, but we finally found the plain almond yogurt in our local grocery store. I just tried this product out last week. I stirred a tablespoon of curry powder into a tub of plain almond dairy-free yogurt substitute, and marinated chicken and vegetables (similar to many tandoori chicken recipes) in it before grilling. It turned out AWESOME! That tangy-sweet taste of the yogurt which browns and coats the chicken was unobtainable without using actual dairy before I found this product. Thanks again, as we really enjoyed this product.
This is an excellent product! It tastes great and has almost half the sugar of the other almond yogurts. Sadly, both of our grocery stores have stopped carrying the plain flavor. Hoping to find where I can purchase it or that our store will carry it again. I am trying to special order, but having trouble :(
I was so happy to find this product. (Plain) I try to avoid sugar. I cut up fresh strawberries and add a few almonds for a great meal. I'm a trainer and nutrition coach. Can you modify your plain yogurt recipe so it has less sugar. I would love to recommend this product to all my clients!!!!
THE PLAIN SHOULD HAVE LESS SUGAR... EVEN THE FLAVORS COULD STILL TASTE GOOD WITH LESS SUGAR... AND PLEASE NO ARTIFICIAL SWEETENER.... ALSO COULD YOU MAKE A LITTLE THICKER CONSISTENCY. OVERALL IT IS REALLY GOOD. I AM THANKFUL FOR SOY AND DAIRY FREE SNACK THAT HAS CALCIUM. GLAD I FOUND IT BUT WOULD BE HAPPIER IF LESS SUGAR. THANKS.
Why, oh why, would they put sugar in the plain option?! If I wanted the sugar, I'd go for the flavored ones for the taste of it! Also, we need larger containers, thicker consistancy...NO sugar. They could even have a "light" option for fat reduction. Needs improvements...sigh! The only good thing about it, is no lactose.
Well I've had this a few times and it's been great. I think because it was in my car for about 45 minutes on the ride home it became soupy. I agree with the too high of sugar but there are too many products with fake sugar which is not good for diabetics and anyone for that matter. Too many chemicals in the fake stuff. Do you really need that much sugar in it?
The first time I bought Silk Plain dairy-free yogurt, it was great! Smooth, creamy, not too sweet, perfect. But every time I have purchased it since then, it has been runny and gritty, like quicksand. I have thrown out 3 containers now because they were so soupy and gritty it was unpalatable. I will not be purchasing this product again, which is disappointing because it was so good the first time I bought it.
I could not stand the taste. I get this is not your normal yogurt but I almost threw up. I drink their almond milk and no issues there. this is the worst yogurt ever. I tried 3 spoons full just to make sure I give it a fair shot.
