Love it. Wish it was less guesswork in making it square to your court/driveway, but other than that, we'll worth the $.
Great basketball hoop! Package arrived on time and in good condition. All parts accounted for. Instructions were clear and simple to follow. Only had to perform one small modification to backboard mounting holes. Needed to be opened up a tiny bit to fit. Great deal from Wal-Mart and family is happy!
I got this goal at a big discount and it's very nice, I've seen comments about installation issues.. just don't be ina. Huge hurry doing the initial setup of the base pole.. the rest went together quick and easy with instructions .. also don't overtighten the nuts holding the arms to the pole, I could see how that might cause some issues with cranking it up and down.
Solid hoop for $320. Assembly was easy, took about two hours. Some of the holes in the main pole didn't align perfectly but I was able to drill them out with a 1/2" bit to make everything line up. I installed the first two sections of the pole and then assembled the top portion with the backboard and rim. It did take two people to lift the top section into place. Worst part was digging the hole.
Installation was a bit complicated but anyone with a good mechanical knowledge should have no problems. Instructions were clear and complete and parts clearly marked (lots of them!). Final steps are a two person operation. Very happy with the results and a strong and solid build that should provide years of hard use.
Good product. Was easy to assemble with good assembly instructions. One problem is that the pole being circular, there is no way to mark the front edge accurately while putting in the ground so that the backboard faces the court absolutely straight. Though I followed the instruction word by word to mark the front line, the pole having a circular design as opposed to square in other hoops, it cannot be fool proof. I like everything in this hoop, but it is at an angle to the center line of my court. There is no way to adjust it once put in the ground
The basketball hoop seems to be quality but there are too many issues to recommend it. The quality control just isn't there. Several of the bolts won't line up and are close to impossible to screw into place, my lower arms were about 1 inch off because where the arms rest on the bar is not level. As others have said it's very hard to line it up perfectly straight. I followed the direction and I'm probably about 1/4 inch off the center but there is no surefire way to be sure it's straight. You need to line it up best you can and hope.
Like others have said, there is no way to get the goal straight by following the directions. I perfectly aligned the bottom post in the concrete, only the have the top post attach crooked and ruin the basketball goal. There is no way to correct or straighten out the goal. The top post isn't aligned correctly to the bottom two posts. I also had to drill out the 4 holes in the backboard so it would even attach to the post bracket. The backboard is flimsy plastic. This could have been a decent budget in-ground basketball goal, but now it is just an eyesore in my driveway. Terrible!
I should have checked the entire product before I got the base installed. It is already chipped at the edges.
When I pay $400 for a Christmas present, I DO NOT expect the package to be destroyed. Now I have no confidence that when the kids open this mess that, 1) all of the parts are there and 2) if anything is damaged inside. From the looks of the photos attached, I expect my kids to be disappointed.
