Love the product. Looks like I bought it from a high end furniture store!
My husband and I just finished putting the cabinet together, which took about 2 1/2 hours, but we did take our time. We laid everything out before we started and completed one section at a time following the directions very carefully. That's the key to success and less frustration. The directions are simple to understand and the diagrams are very helpful. We did have one inside shelf that was not stained properly, but it doesn't show at all. So, just make sure you have all of the pieces and hardware organized and identified BEFORE beginning, and take your time. You will receive the exact amount of screws, etc., so don't lose any. The cabinet is beautiful and solid. No junk! We love it and it looks great in our room.
First, I must disclose that I am an engineer and will be quite critical of several things, however, the result is a beautiful piece of furniture that looks and performs as desired. I have assembled several other furniture pieces and will make some comparisons as to quality. First, all the parts were in the box and clearly labelled, except for part F which was labeled E. The wood used for construction is softer than American pine so you always risk over-tightening and stripping holes. The design is superior to others I have experienced, but some hole locations were chosen for ease of manufacturing rather than appearance. The back sheets are wood composite instead of the cheap cardboard I experienced elsewhere; and they were screwed in instead of cheaply nailed. The wooden pegs need to be cut down slightly to protrude the specified 1/4". The instructions were clear and the drawings very good. My top board was slightly warped which required sitting on it to tighten the screws to hold it flush. When installing screws from the two center uprights to the top, push the uprights toward the front of the unit to be flush with the back of the top. Finally, the pre-drilled holes for the doors are too small and the screw should be set half-way into the hole, then removed, before trying to install the door. In summary, this is a very good value and I do recommend.
I used this to replace my office supplies cabinet and is just high enough to be used to set my printers & use as a work station. Was easy to install but took about 2 hours. Appears to be of good quality. The brown finish color is attractive even though I knew it would not match my other cherry office furniture.
So far, extremely happy. The quality for the money is excellent. Nice color. Well packaged. Quick delivery and zero damage. Assembly of doors and alignment - a bit of a challenge but that is my only complaint. Fair instructions. Extra nuts and bolts. Again, and the main point, the quality for the price is really impressive. I did considerable on-line searching too.
My husband put it together after work and it didn't take him too long. One of the doors sort of didn't go in and out smoothly with the wholes that were already on it, and he had to put new ones so the door didn't "catch" while closing and opening, because of that our doors don't look exactly the same there's supposed to be a little gap(normal gap) on the bottom, but because we had to move one door down, now one of them has the gap on top and one on the bottom, which bothers me, but you only notice it if you're paying attentions to it. It's on my list for him to fix it, but just annoying since it wasn't a cheap piece. It's solid pine wood (soft wood but we have had no problems with any pine furniture we bought). It looks nice and we love it.
This took us only 2 hours to put together. The wood is thick, the color is rich (but the odor of the finish on the wood was quite strong). Its a beautiful piece of furniture and I love the style.
We put the sides of the cabinet on back to the front. The directions told us to put on the back before putting on the doors or putting in the shelves. We screwed in the back before we realized the sides were back to front. When we went to put in the shelves they would not go in properly and there were holes where we put screws. Put the shelves in place before putting any screws in the back.
This is an attractive cabinet and well engineered. The problem is an abundance of mis-drilled holes that make assembly very challenging. You should plan to keep your drill handy if you purchase this. It's unfortunate that they do not have higher standards in manufacturing and Quality Assurance.
Baught this and received a bit later than expected. But ok. Try putting together and notice that not all the parts fit making it difficult to put together fully. I took a picture and emailed the company. That was last month. No word has been received since until they ask for a review!! Not a company I every want to work with again.
