this crib is not exactly white it's more of a winter white or egg shell so we had to buy the matching dresser or it would have looked funny next to pure white. It is absolutely beautiful though and easy to put together, my husband did it in less than an hour with no problems. I can't wait 'till my baby girl is here to sleep in it. the only thing I would like different is that there are no dowels to hide the black screws it comes with but it doesn't bother me enough to care much.
I put this crib together with my husband in about 30 minutes. The directions were easy to follow, and there were only a few allen wrench screws to put in. The crib is extremely sturdy and my daughter loves it. It is absolutely beautiful in her room, mind you her room was still being remodeled in the picture.
Yes this crib is not bright white, but if I wouldn't have read that any where else I don't know if I even would have noticed. I have all white baby furniture and it matches great. Do not, not buy this because it is not exactly white. I have not had any one even notice. I bought the Stork Craft Beatrice combo dresser and the Badger Basket Sleigh changing table and they all look great together. Very sturdy, great directions on how to put it together too. Me and my girl friends put it together very quickly and easily.
This is a great crib for the price! We got it $50 off through the Wal-Mart web site. Easily assembled in about 30-45 minutes, and the end product is beautiful and sturdy! We will use this crib for a very long time, as it turns into a toddler bed & a full size bed. The only problem was that the back of the crib (which will be the back of the headboard when it is a full size bed) had a chunk taken out of it. Not just paint, but actual wood had been scraped out. Not too big of a problem because the crib is placed against the wall and you can't see it in the back, but it would have been a problem if it were somewhere other than the back of the crib. Other than that, this crib is gorgeous and we really like it!
I can say that for $250, I am impressed! This crib took less than 30 minutes to assemble and is an adorable piece of furniture. There is nothing cheap about this bed. It's very solid and I think that it will make a great bed for years to come. I recommend it over any of the beds I found at competative retailers or specialty baby stores.
We haven't put this crib to use, yet, but I can tell you more about the color. Definitely not bright white, but I color matched it today so I can paint our changing table, and found a very comparable color called "pearly white" at Sherwin Williams. You can check their website, but as colors look different on every monitor, I'd recommend getting a paint chip at the store if you are curious. Otherwise, the crib took my husband about 1.5 hours to put together pretty much alone, and although there was a small split in one of the back rails, it looks really nice! Our bedding has white accents, and the difference in color doesn't bother me at all- and I am picky!
This looks as great in real life as in the pictures. It's very sturdy and I can see it still being safe by the time it gets turned into a toddler bed. Being made of white wood, there is the odd mark on the wood, by they are so tiny that they don't matter at all. Installation was easy. The only small issue we had was joining the metal base (that the matress rests on) to the frame. Again, no big deal. We also have the matching changing table/dresser combo. Highly recommended series!
We live in Canada but ordered the crib on Walmart.com and had it delivered to the nearest Walmart just across the border. The same crib in Canada is close to $400, so we were more than happy to pay half the price and drive an hour to pick it up. The associate helped us unpack the crib so we could inspect it before bringing it back to Canada. It was in fine shape with only a couple of minor dings. We brought it home and assembled it in an hour. It probably would have taken my wife and I less time if she had been a tad more mobile. In any event, it was VERY VERY easy to build. No tools needed. Easy to follow instructions. I don't know how anyone can think this crib is difficult to put together. It's simplicity afterall. The crib is very sturdy and all the bolts can be tightened quite easily should they become loose in the future. When shopping for cribs I was told to look for cribs with a metal mattress support and to make sure the screws are screwed into metal jackets. This crib has both. I am very happy with crib and would highly recommend this crib due to its value and quality. I'm looking forward to converting it as well. PS - I called Simplicity and they say you can use standard mattress rails when converting the crib. You don't have to buy the simplicity rails. If you do buy separate rails, you won't be able to use the foot board however, only the headboard.
I like the look of this crib, however it is in NO way a white crib. It is more of a light gray color. I bought a crib that looks a lot like this crib for my first daughter. The cribs would look great together if this one was white. The first one I bought at a baby store and I paid twice as much, so it is a good value. It took me about 2 hours to put together by myself, so it it fairly easy to assemble. Just know you may not be getting a truely white crib.
I was disappointed with the color of the crib. It was not a bright white as I expected. It was a grayish white. It looked as though there was a darker paint underneath and someone just painted over it. Also the top front of the crib was badly dented. I decided to return the crib and get another one altogether. Also it was a challenge putting it together but I've heard that all cribs are.
