Happy to have this machine on the side
This little machine makes loading my bobbins so easy and fast. It saves me from having to change my sewing machine over from sewing to bobbin mode, which saves loads of time. I highly recommend this item if you enjoy sewing.
Bobbin winder on an old Singer sewing machine broke. Read reviews of previous consumers of this product. The Simplicity Sidewinder works perfectly in rewinding my bobbins. Did not have to make any kind of adjustments to wind bobbin. Will use machine mainly for garment repair and occasional projects.
I absolutley love this little bobbin winder. I have a vintage Kenmore and have been having issues winding bobbins using the sewing machine. I decided to give this a try. Easy to use, the spool holder raises up and then you simply put it back down when not using. If using metal bobbins, line the notch up with the tab on the bobbin holder, slide bobbin down and flip the thread stop over against the bobbin, hit the power button. Machine will shut off when the bobbin is full... So much easier to use than the sewing machine..
I purchased the sidewinder because my Brother sewing machine will no longer wind a bobbin. It worked just great winding a bobbin, and worked just fine in my Brother sewing machine! I recommend this product if your sewing machine no longer winds a bobbin. It's cheaper than a new sewing machine or the cost to repair the old one!
I like that I don't have to take the thread off my machine and do bobbin threading. You can do a bunch of different threads for future use.
This works great. I bought this because my sewing machine was damaged when moving and part of the bobbin winder cracked. I will continue to use even after repairs. I can easily spin a bobbin without re threading the machine when I am in the middle of a project.
When I purchased this bobbin winder I had read mixed reviews. Well I'm pleasantly surprised that it does a terrific job for me and I'm sorry now that I didn't purchase one earlier. One thing about comments that a large spool comes off, be sure to pull up the pin the large spool sits on, so it won't come off.
I needed this after my machine stopped winding the bobbins. After trying to wind one by hand,I ordered this and picked it up at my local store. It worked great!Took me just a few minutes to wind several bobbins. My only complaint it that it is very light weight and falls back on to the lid if not held,so a little flimsy. But it did get the job done and saved me a lot of frustration!
I love this but was a little dismayed when my large thread spool just flew off the stand, so I got an idea while sipping on a straw: I cut a clean drinking straw to about a 3" length and put it on the spool aperature and slipped the thread spool over it, and lo and behold, now I can use ALL my threads without worrying that the thread spool will shoot across the room again! The straw slips off and stores inside the lid when I take the case with me. As for bobbins, I have used different types of bobbins before, although currently I have two Brother machines that use the "L" style bobbins. I used to have an old Singer Touch and sew with the Futura bobbins and those style bobbins would probably not work in this winder as it is made for the bobbins with a center hole that is larger than 3 toothpicks together but smaller than a standard pencil. If I recall correctly, those bobbins from the 70's had no center hole. I use this daily with a straw!
