These needles are good quality and made well. As regular-point needles I use them on woven fabrics. (Ball-point needles are for knit and stretchy fabrics.) They hold up fairly well, lasting 12 to 15 hours of sewing, depending on the fabric. Some brands last a little bit longer, but cost a little bit more, so it evens out in the long run. These are usually readily available in local stores and of course online. The day I bought them Walmart had the lowest price I could find anywhere. I restore Vintage Singer Sewing Machines, and always include a pack of these needles with the notions I include with any sale to a customer. I explain to buyers that the needle is the least expensive part of any sewing project. Don't hang on to a used needle like it's gold; there are millions more available. 300 million of them were sold in America in 1906 alone. Yep, 1906. (Scientific American) In these small 5 needle packs, they still only cost 50 cents per needle. You'd be surprised how many stitching problems can be eliminated with a new needle. Go ahead, replace it! I've never bought a problem, dull or bent needle, in all the years I've been using Singer needles.
