We purchased this product for my daughters 6th birthday & we all had a blast...everything worked as expected & it looks better than the box karaoke machines...the only down side was that when we downloaded songs from iTunes the lyrics did not show up on the screen so we had to purchase the actual karaoke CDs...
I love this machine! Its a great party piece if you're having friends over and all of the extra gadgets really set it apart. The design is great and it looks awesome..seriously fun, highly recommend if you like karoake!
Bought for my 10 yr. old. She hooks her ipod up with karaoke tunes from itunes. A party of 10 girls had an absolute blast. The machine is solidly built, heavy, and the sound quality is better than expected. Mics pick up voices well. Ipod dock easy to use and fits nice. Display is nice. Video camera only shows instant action. Can not save video clips, but didn't expect that either. Had the radio playing Pink Floyd just for listening. the speaker's sound is excellent. the overall quality is better than expected. Finally, I feel like I got something that is worth the money paid. This is not a cheap system..
So pleased with this purchase I had to write a review! I used to have the singing machine 385 which was fun but I wanted something a little fancier. I love how it looks and love the built in screen . I've gotten nothing but compliments from friends on how nice it is, very impressive when you walk in and see it set up.I downloaded their app on my iphone and got a 30 day subscription so I can stream any of their songs in the app... only problem is when youre using the app the words only show up on your iphone screen not on the built in monitor. I went on their facebook page to ask what was up with that and someone else had beat me to it! FYI it's something to do with apple blocking 3rd party applications and they cant do anything about it. You can still see it fine from your iphone though so its not a big deal. Highly recommend! :)
My family and I loves this machine we have had countless hours of fun. But i wish the video plays while im singing and records. Overall its a great experience!!!!
This product is absolutely amazing!! My friend go this for Christmas. when i go over her house when sing all day. The machine read the words from any Cd and when you hook your Ipod to it the video shows on the screen when on Youtube. It can connect to the T.v. The speakers are light weight. Built well. It can go on the radio.
For some reason the master volume control will not completely go down to a minimum volume...you can cut the volume up, but can only go down so far.....the minimum is not soft enough when you are playing by yourself......thanks. Bruce
Very easy to put together. iPod docking option is great... even plays my old Nano. Speakers sound fantastic! FM radio is very crackly - AM radio is clear. I need to take a look at the instructions to see if there is a way to hook up an antenna. I purchased the 2 yr. service warranty because the quality reviews on various websites were not stellar, but so far, no issues here. Kids have had a ball, 15, 12 and 10.
I expected this singing machine to come with better dirctions and all the screws required to put it together. The manual to use it was very vague and we had to get on the internet to find installation instructions and how to put the darn thing together. After going down to the hardware store to buy additional screws I finally was able to put it together. Then we had to get back on the internet to figure out how to use it. The picture shows it has a coordless peice. Not true. Not what I expected for the price. The only saving grace is that it sounds good.
While the product itself seems to have some good features, the ipod dock was not functional on our unit. We tried every ipod we had (touch, nano, etc). This was one of the reasons that we decided on the unit in the first place. When we tried to find out what to do from The Singing Machine's customer service, we were told to return the product to Walmart because The Singing Machine did not make /sell the ipod dock and, thus, had no way of repairing / replacing this part of the unit. It doesn't make sense that Walmart must process the return just because The Singing Machine has a poor business model. When we challenged this response and instead asked why the limited warranty would not then apply, we received nothing but silence (still waiting for a response). Because the other responses from customer service came so quickly when we first initiated our inquiries, the complete lack of response seems purposeful. Hopefully Walmart's customer service will be more helpful.
