I love our new Martin house. This is our second purchase. The ice storm in Ky. destroyed our first one , however, it was several years old. This one is identical to the one that was destroyed. It was very easy to assemble and looks wonderful in our backyard.
This product's assembly is very easy, good clear instructions. The pole works excellent. Lowers all the way so you can clean out the martin house while standing on the ground. I would recommend these two items to anyone wanting a martin house.
RITA STRUCK AND MOST MARTIN HABITATS WERE WIPED OUT EXCEPT OUR S&K'S. VERY EASY TO ASSEMBLE AND SET UP. A SNAP TO CLEAN. OUR COLONIES HAVE BEEN THRIVING SINCE 1997 WITH THE SAME HOUSES HANGING IN THERE YEAR AFTER YEAR. THANK YOU S&K.
I was replacing the same type of bird house since a storm damaged it. It was easy to assemble and was a little larger than the old one.
the product was a little difficult to put together - required 2 guys to figure it out. The pole was not included so we had to go and get one. It is decorative and the birds do like it.
My Purple Martens love it. That's the main thing, and very cute.
I'm impressed with the ease with which this product goes together. The instructions are very well thought out and actually make sense to a typical consumer. The product seems to be well contructed. Time will tell if Purple Martins will be attached to it. Since the house REQUIRES a special pole, they should be sold as a package with the option of separating them.
I found the two floors not straight. It is important to place them between 2 2x4s and put weights on top and wait till they are straight. This will make it easy to assemble.The floors are not straight the way they are placed in the box. But the directions say that doesn't matter, but that is not true. I put 2 houses together.
this birdhouse is very flimsy. We also could have went to S %26 K manufacturing and got the same thing $20 cheeper. We were both very disapointed in Walmart.
I expected the birdhouse to be more sturdy than it was. I admit I was concerned when website did not disclose what material it was made of, and how inexpensive it was. Made out of very thin, flimsy plastic. Hole for pole is triangular. My pole is round, and was not informed that I needed to also purchase pole or an adapter kit. You are instructed to trim some pieces to fit during assembly, and I was leary that I would actually break it putting it together. Overall, I did not feel that it would weather the elements. I returned it the same day I picked it up.
