Skil battery operated tools is a brand we already own and wanted to stay with.
Light but powerful and super easy to use. I haven't had to replace the string that came with it yet but interested to see how that works.
This is a light weight hedge trimmer. I like the front and back triggers to prevent accidental activation of the unit. The blades are sharp and had no problems with cutting through brush.
Trimmed all my shrubbery, used about 45 minutes and had a 1/4 of battery life left. Light weight to use. Cut was nice and clean.
Light weight and very sharp. Long lasting battery. Used approximately 40 minutes and battery was only about 3/4 depleted. Great product. Exceeded expectations.
I was faced with either buying a new battery and charger for my existing string trimmer or a new Skil unit. I wanted this unit to work since I have 5 other of the Skil PWR 20 hand products (Drill, Circular saw, jig saw, fan and sander) and lots of chargers! I am not disappointed. The unit works well and "tap" string advance is working as well.
Great little tool. Light weight and handy. This is my 2nd one to own.
I enjoy using this battery-operated trimmer. It works well and integrates battery wise with other Skil products I own. It replaced a corded hedge trimmer so the process of going out and doing a little trimming is much more convenient. Quite capable of trimming branches based on its size limitation.
For the most part the string trimmer is okay. The only problem we have with it is that the motor sometimes cuts out after pulling the trigger to start it and you to continue to keep pulling the trigger to get it to start again. Also, the trimmer is a bit heavier than I would like it to be and is a bit painful to use for any length of time.
